:sl: sis :)

Here is a good website with a lot of middle eastern recipes. It might give you an idea of what to make for your arab buffet insha Allaah.

I am more familiar with the Arabic People of North Africa and I know there nothing is complete without Cous-Cous.

There are a number kitchen ready cous-cous mixes available in the super markets these days.

In case you are not familiar with cous-cous here are a few recipes:

Moroccan Couscous Recipe

Ingredients
1 cup orange or other juice
1 cup instant couscous
1/4 cup pitted dates, finely chopped
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup slivered almonds
1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions
Bring juice and 1/2 cup water to a boil in a small pot. Remove from heat.

Stir in couscous and allow to sit covered for 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a separate pan, saute dates, raisins, almonds and cinnamon in 1/2 cup water for 2 minutes. Add cooked couscous. Mix well and serve warm.

Savory Chicken Couscous Recipe

Couscous makes a delicious alternative to rice or potatoes. This easy dish cooks up in less than 10 minutes with very little effort and goes well with meat, poultry, pork, and fish.
INGREDIENTS:

* 1/4 cup minced sweet onion
* 2 Tbsp butter
* 1-1/2 cups chicken broth
* 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
* 1/2 tsp onion powder
* 1/2 tsp garlic powder
* 1-1/2 tsp kosher salt
* 1/2 cup frozen baby peas
* 1 cup plain quick-cooking couscous

PREPARATION:
Gently saute sweet onion in the butter until the onion is translucent. Add chicken broth, lemon juice, onion powder, garlic powder, kosher salt, and baby peas.

Bring to a boil. Remove from heat, stir in couscous, cover and let stand for 5 minutes to absorb the liquid. Fluff couscous with a fork before serving.

Entree Suggestion: Easy Chicken Piccata
