How do you increase your rep power, or is it something that mods have control over. i've noticed that many members have rep power greater than mine, im still stuck on 1, how do i increase it.

This is what the forum rules say:
When I give someone reputation, how many Reputation points will they receive?
That depends on three factors: your post count, your time on Li Islamic Forum, and how much reputation you have yourself. The longer you have been on Li Islamic Forum, the more posts you have, and the more reputation people has given you, the more reputation points you give. Also, to discourage negative ratings and encourage positive, you only give half your normal reputation (rounded down) when you give negative reputation..

So, you have been here for under 2 months, have posted under 200 posts, and received just over 400 reps.
You may find that when you reach 2 full months, or when you reach 200 posts, or when you reach 500 reps, your own reps will go up ... (I don't know these figures to be correct - those are just examples)
I hope this helps.

I think that rep power increases as the users reply to your comments or threads. If users arent interested in replying to your posts, then your rep power doesnt increase or change.
When you say 'the more reputation people give you'..what do you mean?

glo gave the right answer.
You get 1 point for each month you are a member, beginning with your second month.
You get 1 point for every 1000 reps you are given by other members
You get 1 point for every 1000 thousand post you posts
Once you get Rep Power you do not loose it.
Using myself as an example
I have been a member for 14 months I have 13 power points for that
I have gotten 25,000 rep points I got 25 power points for that
I got 8 points for my post count. Looking at my post count you will see it looks like that should be 7 However I have had over 300 posts deleted. although that affected my post cound it did not decress my rep power.
To give reps positive or negative you will see a green box in the upper left corner of the persons post. click that box and you can give or take away reps.
this topic has been brought up numerous times. I will close this thread as soon as the topic starter has had time to see these posts.
