How do people who have just joined this year become a mod and people who have joined way back in 2005 or 2006 not become a mod? Oh and what do you have to do to become a mod?

i think...they may be close to the admin..so he can trust them and he knows their abilities to moderate the forum well

or they may be very active members

or may be they r the sons and daughters of the admin's boss at work :D :D :D :D :D

i'm not sure.
send a PM to admin or supermod. (not sure which)
it isn't automatic - you have to apply for it.

You used to be able to apply for the position of moderator, but the rules seem to have changed in that respect:
Moderators at islamicboard.com are selected from our community based on their forum activity. We do not take applications for moderator positions. Becoming a moderator for a specific forum is usually rewarded to users who are particularly helpful and knowledgeable in the subject of the forum they are moderating.
