I was wondering if you guys could suggest [Italic because this is the comments and suggestion category nah?] some good internet providers. The one that my dad recently got is TalkTalk, and if the modem box thing had a second life, I would have killed it by now. Its slow, and horrible and pathetic.

If you have Sky Digital TV then you can also get Sky Broadband for £10 a month at 16mb. Free Installation. You get a router free with it too.

He plans on cutting out the contract soon. Hopefully by next week. And possibly scutter back to Tiscali.

And about Sky... It seems like an awesome deal... Except we don't own a TV [boy I'm proud of that!]

Jazakallah khair for the information anyway.

Me and all my family have ADSL installed at our houses with Pipex, not had one single problem with them in 4 years.

How would Tiscali rate amongst all this? Good? Bad? A Dodge Podge?

Tiscali are not too bad in terms of the connection, but things tend to go wrong every few months and every time they blame BT and not themselves and it usually takes 4 days + for them to resolve anything.

This is just from my previous experience as as a business partner of Tiscali in which I would be in charge of the provisioning and trouble shooting of connections for new business's. Maybe there residential service is better though i doubt it, it would likely be the same or worse.

Thanks for the info Andrew.

Yeah they're connections not too bad. But I ca so relate to the resolution problem. :heated:
Like this one time our internet connection went funny, it'd go really slow then slower until it completly shut down. It took them like a week or so to resolve the issue.

And also when our bills come, there are some things that just dont add up. :playing:

What would be the most recommended internet provider cause we're thinking of switching inshaAllah (God-Willingly)?

I would recommend Pipex. They are decent value and have never experienced any problems with them (in 4 years) and neither have any of the family or friends I have recommended to them.

lol

I dont know if people use Virgin Media, but i hear they have an offer on, 4mb internet for £17 am month, as opposed to the the £18 for 2 mb...

Contract for a year, and then you get out of the contract but still get the same speed (4mb)

some people might want to check it out, Allahualim

^sounds great, looks great, but are they reliable...?

there are so many providers coming in these days, half of them disconnect all the time....

i had a friend, who said that his service was so bad that whenever it rained badly, he had no connection....and then there people who keep disconnecting on MSN every 2 mins...

are pipex good though? never heard of them...they have a good deal going...

true...but you dont have to go with them for all three...but if you do...they offer you deals and stuff...and it does work out cheaper...

im wiv "Be", they give the fastest speed (24 mbps which in can giv u a download rate of more then 1MB per second), but its very unreliable. Quite sukky i must say

oh and its the cheapest for its speed, 24GBP per month, i wanna change to pipex !
