Business or Engineering? HELPP!!!!

Salaam
I have one more semester to go in High school then I'm moving onto University... but I cant decide which one to choose... Heres a little bit about myself... I'm really good in math (Calculas, Advanced functions) and Physics is my favourite subject BUT I hate chemistry and cant stand it... I love cars.. so this might suit me for Mechanical engineering...on the other hand I like a Business mans lifestyle much better... Wearing suits... I love talking to people... and getting their opinion on everyday things... But I hate writing essays and reading pointless (fiction) books... These are the majors in Business Management on the 3rd year:

Accounting
Economics and Management Science
Entrepreneur/Strategy
Finance
Human Resources Management
Management
Marketing Management

I need someone to help me find:
1) The easiest out of these choices
2) One which involves least writing and most use of numbers

wel i do accounting n it involves roughly 50% numbers n 50% writing! (business/law essayz) but i gues it dependz on d type of uni u go 2, so i gues u gota research in2 dat urself
bt since u lik number stuff n u wana get in2 d business side of d world .id say go 4 accounting or finance.HRM is boring id say lool

The way u put ur interests, I think accounting would do better than engineering. Just u won't have cars to deal with. But that ur profession shal provide u with:)

wel accounting has sum finance modules n u can still go in2 finance even if u do a accounting degree so erm.. accounting is better it has more options i fink :s lool

From someone who has done the accountancy/finance thing.. ENGINEERING!! Do something useful.. build things, make things, make people's lives better rather than trying to extract money from them that they can't afford buying goods they don't need. Finance/business just amounts to nothing, or at least nothing to remember you by.

There's always a shortage of engineers in just about any field, but there are wannabe business magnates all over. You have to be talented lucky and (usually) willing to tread on other people to get that "Business mans lifestyle". Engineers can afford suits too.. the difference is they can wear jeans when they want to!

Again, engineering. Accountants and businessmen don't deal with numbers, the pay other people (not very much, usually) to do it for them.

1) Human resource management. Possibly the easiest business-related subject you could ever get.

2) Accounts technically since it uses most numbers. Though, you will have to write a hell of a lot.

erm.. wel in accountin in my uni we have to do sum short essayz on contract law stuff and business stuff nutin major bt den agen i only dun 1 year degree n 2 years A levels :D

I had a similar dilemma. I was to choose between Engineering and Economics.
However, I realised that you can still learn economics later in your life, or even as an elective with your engineering degree. Oh by the way, engineers can work in financial institutes. Thats how versatile an engineering degree can be, because you will develop you problem solving ability.
Dont let your enthusiasm for maths and physics go to waste. Engineering is an amazing field :) Its not always about being stuck in a factory. You do meet other people and get their opinions (and be in a suit too, haha). These inter-personal skills are an absolute requirement to be a sucessful engineer. For example, you professed your love for cars. When you end up in a company that designs automobiles, you have to work with different people. From electronic engineers to deal with the wiring.. to finance people that deal with budget and where to get the most value car components. Then you'd do some field work and deal with different companies that supply those components. They are simplified examples, but I wanted to stress upon the "working with people" point, because you have not listed that many points about why you wanted to do Business!

engineers or economics....

i rather choose economics...but it is soo money minded unless you're working for a government on town planning or something....

engineering are too broad and it will be a problem when you start working. specialise on something that'll be on demand, and do something you really-really like.

if you want to be a businessman while having a background of engineering and you want to open up a business related to it, then it'll be tricky. Because you really really need to have all the knowledge and resources.

So start planning from now, don't wait until you graduated. :peace:
