Hijab = Free

What is exactly going through ur mind?
As ur standing there staring at me?

You call me oppressed,
simply because of the way I'm dressed.

But don’t u see under the hijab that I wear I do care,
My head is not bare.

But remember I’m wearing my hijab,
And I know that makes me strong,
Even though they think its all wrong.

They don’t know it's kind of tough,
Especially when times like this comes which makes it rough.

They think that I do not have opinions or voice,
they think that being hooded isn't my choice.

I have a voice so I will be heard,
for in my heart I carry His word.

Now it’s my time to turn and say,
‘But don’t u see that I am truly free,
This piece of cloth I wear so proudly,
To preserve my dignity,
All I wanted is equality
Why can’t u just accept me for who I am?

I walk away with a smile and say,
‘I’m the one who is free’

Do you see someone limited?
Or someone free?

thankyou very much for ur positive comments,
well acually i just recently started writing poems cuz school is on its break so there really isnt anything to do around the house, so i guess im not a proffesional lol but i am trying my best hehehehe anyway so i have been getting bored so i thought i would wirte a poem and i showed it to one of my friends and she loved it and she told me to write more so i did and then she told me to put them on forums. so i have done and im happy to see very nice comments on them! and inshAllah i will write more and keep them updated on this forum. However school will start again in september so inshAllah i will still try to keep on writing poems if i can get a chance.
