really? ngabuburit means spending time with our fellas by having some islamic chat or reading Quran verses until the adzan. but unluckily most of the sundanese youngsters translate that as 'shopping and going to cinema until the iftaar time has come.

Nice topic. but do not you guys say "alhamdolellah" or "inshaAllah" after you state that you are a Muslim?
Alhamdolellah means "Thanks Allah.. He guided me.. And showed me the true path"
InshaAllah means "I am Muslim now.. But am not sure about the future. So i ask Allah to keep me on the straight path.."
in Turkish we say; "Ben Müslümanım, Elhamdulillah" or "Ben Müslümanım İnşaAllah"
peace

إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَةٌ فَأَصْلِحُوا بَيْنَ أَخَوَيْكُمْ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ
[049.010] [DI] Şüphesiz müminler birbiri ile kardeştirler; öyle ise dargın olan kardeşlerinizin arasını düzeltin; Allah'tan sakının ki size acısın.
10. All believers are but brethren. (11) Hence, [whenever they are at odds,] make peace between your two brethren, and remain conscious of God, so that you might be graced with His mercy.
10. Sebenarnya orang-orang yang beriman itu adalah bersaudara, maka damaikanlah di antara dua saudara kamu (yang bertelingkah) itu dan bertakwalah kepada Allah supaya kamu beroleh rahmat.
10. Los creyentes son, en verdad, hermanos. Reconciliad, pues, a vuestos hermanos y temed a Alá! Quizás, así, se os tenga piedad.
10. Die Gläubigen sind ja Brüder. Stiftet drum Frieden zwischen euren Brüdern und nehmet Allah zu eurem Beschützer, auf daß euch Barmherzigkeit erwiesen werde.
10. Sesungguhnya orang-orang mukmin adalah bersaudara karena itu damaikanlah antara kedua saudaramu dan bertakwalah kepada Allah supaya kamu mendapat rahmat.

Actually we mix both Bahasa and English in our daily communication.:exhausted
And the "Bahasa" that we use on daily basis is not the standard Bahasa Malaysia, but more to local dialects..... I speak Penangite dialect with lots of English and Hokkien words...:blind:

Our National language is "Bahasa Malaysia" (Malaysian Language) which is actually "Bahasa Melayu" (Malay Language).
Malaysian Malays use their own dialects in daily conversation... we only use the standard language in classrooms.
It's normal to see a Malay talking to another Malay in English.
