Ya Allah,All this early talk for taraweeh is making me cry already. I cant believe they already start putting subtitles. When I saw the video,they waited 2-3 secs for Sh.Maahir to start sura,then they displayed the subs.

I hope Sheikh Juhany starts the taraweeh inshaAllah. So Sheikh Shuraim can lead the 2nd part:D . It would be great to take out Sh.Talib and put Sheikh Maahir. InshaAllah he can lead the regulars salats:p

no sis. i like the guy and all, but i find that his recitation is a little slow :hiding: for me. i prefer the more faster sh's, like Sh.shuraim. Also i im just used to that type of voice and tune i think. i dont see mysef 'growing out' or getting bored of it.

Yeh I live the UK. Taraweeh will either be today or tomorrow...If Taraweeh ish today then fasting tomorrow! Else it'll be on Thursday! :D

You guys are sooo fortunate. You're going to the Haram at the beginning of Ramadan. I'm leaving on the 24th, going to miss a week or 2. But it was the earliest I can manage. Still, should be there for last 10 days insha'Allah.
I can't wait!
And by the way, what I said about replacing shaykh Juhany with shaykh Talib, me and shaykh Juhany are good friends, so he'll understand. I just LOVE shaykh Talib's Taraweeh style.

They do that every year, maybe just to give enough time for people to go back to their homes, eat and come back in time. They'll delay the Isha adhan itself.

If your wondering why the recitation is short its because they usually pray 1 1/4 Juzz in the first 5 days but are only praying 1 :)

18:45, but thats only 6:45, and that dont make semse, because that would mean that mecca taraweeh would be veiwed at 12.45 am where i live, and we get it at about 3.00am

also, what do you people make of this. personally, i think it is werid. i found it on the islamthinkers website and basically it's a verbal bashing of sh.sudais :cry:

"A leading Saudi cleric issued a plea today for Muslims not to heed calls to wage terror attacks in the name of Islam. Sheikh Abdulrahman al-Sudeis, the state-appointed preacher at the Grand Mosque in Mecca, told pilgrims in a sermon marking the feast of Eid al-Adha that scholars must preach moderation to confront militants, who were using "misguided and void" interpretations to justify violence. His sermon, dedicated to the 2.5 million Muslims performing the hajj pilgrimage in Mecca, echoed comments made yesterday by Sheikh Abdul-Aziz al Sheik. The kingdom's grand mufti said the greatest test to the nation of Islam came from its sons who were "lured by the devil" to carry out acts of violence.

Sheikh al-Sudeis said militancy was not a valid interpretation of Islam. "Because Muslims have strayed from moderation, we are now suffering from this dangerous phenomenon of branding people infidels and inciting Muslims to rise against their leaders to cause instability," he said.

"The reason for this is a delinquent and void interpretation of Islam based on ignorance ... faith does not mean killing Muslims or non-Muslims who live among us, it does not mean shedding blood, terrorising or sending body parts flying."

btw, Sh juhany made a mistake in his qonoot duaa the other day (night six). where he quoted the verse from surat al-haaqqah, which was around the 7min. he said koloo wa sh raboo fee maa aslaftum.., but its meant to be koloo wa sh raboo bi maa aslaftum... If anyone knows him please pass it on to him. And also just in case someone wants to memorize the duaa, they dont memeorize the wrong thing.

Sudais, is it just me, or has he lost heaps of weight?? also have you brothers and sisters heard of this. appaerntly sh sudais' mum used to have a little peom that went something like (please correct me, i dont remeber it exactly): abdul-rahman abdul-rahman ihfath al-Quraan takon imaam masjid al-haraam (abdul-rahman abdul-rahman memorize the quran, you will be imam of masjid al-haraam), nice huh??

Haha Sheikh Shuraim made mistake today in taraweeh. In surah Al-An'am. The ayaah is "qaaloo shahidna 'alaa unfusina wa ghurruthum..." he totally left out the words "'alaa unfusinaa" After that he just kept going like nothing happened. Bit In the next rakaat he came went all the back one ruku' and said it correctly. But WOW. Until this year I thought the imams of Masjid Al-Haram were super-human and didnt make mistakes. But they do just like everyone else. And why dont they have the huffaz like Sudais n Juhanee correct right away like in most Masaajid. In Al-Haram thay just wait for the imam to correct himself. I guess it makes it flow, and ppl that arent following or dont know the surah wont catch it.
