Hi all

First of all thanks to Abdullah, Alpha Dude and Woodrow for helping me with my technical problems in posting pics. :thankyou:

I wanted to start another picture thread, and I hope others will contribute!

September is one of my favourite months: it can still bring summer-like temperatures, and yet autumn is advancing. Knowing that the season is turning, makes me appreciate every sunny day all the more!
On top of that, it is the time when there is an abundance of food ripening - only waiting to be harvested. Being a bit of a forager, I can spend hours picking plums, apples, blackberries etc - and already there are bottled plums and apple puree, frozen fruit and veg, various jams, pickled cucumbers and beans in brine sitting on the shelves in our larder.

Today I took my son plum picking. To be honest, he spent most of his time practising his aim by throwing overripe plums, rather than helping me pick - but that's 10-year-old boys for you! (Let me proudly mention here that he does have a very good aim! :D )

Here are some autumn pictures for you all (or fall pictures for those of you across the big pond ...)

Yay! I think I did it! :D

Do any of you have nature pictures you want to share?

Are those rice fields or another type of farm? Never seen that in person ( a grid area with pools of water and roads running between).

i always love to see life growing out of the cracks in the dry desert floor.
the purple flowers in the middle are sand verbena.

Having rediscovered this old thread, I thought I'd post a few pictures here.
Today my hubby and I went for a long walk together.
Here are some pictures I took:

God's beauty is everywhere, you only need to look.

It is above

and below;

You find it near

and far;

It is present in the new

and the old;

in the small

and the large;

in the detail

and in the wider picture.

God's beauty really is everywhere - just go and see for yourself!

Peace :)

This is one of my favourite places.
It's a disused canal, which is now dry and covered in wild flowers.

Because it is so secluded, I rarely meet people there and it is a place of real peace and beauty.
I remember once I was walking there in the autumn, and the mist had caught in thousands of spiderwebs. It was so beautiful that I felt compelled to get on my knees and pray.

Nice nature pics! Thank you for your contribution.

Now then, boys, perhaps it's time you gathered your thoughts and minds and prepared for your Friday prayers. :)

God bless you both.

It's easy to find beauty, sometimes in the small places - you only need to know where to look.

I agree, the colours on that last picture are fabulous!
