I took it on the 27!! It was a wonderful experience. The Masjid here everyone gets together every night to break the fast and pray. The Sheik had me do it up in front of the congregation. I was so nervous and shaky but also very excited and happy. Afterward everyone came around and shook my hand and hugged me and congratulated me. It was wonderful.

Quranic Arabic is known as fusa (pure) arabic, all other modern arabic dialects are derived from that. if you go from country to country (arab), the dialect will be different and they might not even understand you with some dialects but all of them understand fusa arabic, that is the beauty of quranic arabic.

oh and welcome back to the path of the Truth, may Allah increase you in emaan (faith) and knowledge.

Read the Quran at a pace that is comfortable for you bro. Also read the Seerah (biography) of the prophet and the hadeeth (sayings of the Prophet). It is important to stick to the sunnah (way of the prophet) and the Quran both. You should talk with your local imaam to see if the can help find a knowledgeable brother to be your mentor for a little while :)
