:sl:
For A levels (i.e, you took AS in first year, and then A level in year two)
A = 120 points
B = 100 points
C = 80 points
D = 60 points
E = 40 points

For AS Levels, the points are halved.

E.g;

Bob took 3 A levels and obtained 2 A's and a B (mashallah, he is a clever kid)
So: 120 + 100 + 100 = 320 points

He also took one AS level, but did not carry this into year 2 for an A level, and got a C in it.

320 + 40 (half of 80, since it is AS only) = 360 points.

You won't be credited twice for an A level, e.g. if you get a C at AS and a B at A level for a subject, you will be credited 100 points, not 100 plus 50.

imm.... Actually, I dont think that the credit system posted here is like ours using in the university, but I will post it anyway ^_^
for ours it is

A = 4 points
B+ = 3.5 points
B = 3 points
C+ = 2.5 points
C = 2 points
D+ = 1.5 point
D = 1 point
F = 0

and for the GPA we consider 3.6 and above out of 4 as an A (Excellent)
so we are taking the GPA out of four

and to now th ones GPA we multiply each of the last categorize in the credit hours of it.

example:
I am taking 3 cources:
programming have 3 credit hours, and I get B+
Math have 2 credit hours, an I get B
English have 4 credit hours, and I get A

and to calculate the points for each cource we do the following:

3*3.5= 10.5 for Programming
2*3= 6 for Math
4*4= 16 for English

sound a little complecated ...........lol

Assalamu Alaikum

Well, where do you go to school? That would help narrow which system your school uses since there's obviously more than one system used lol.

Im just interested, thats all.

I was nosing around on a abroad uni website and they showed their entry requirements as: Credits. For one of the subjects that I randomly clicked on...its said: 155 credits.

Where I am...the grading thing is based on A Level results (A,B,C,D) to get into Uni. Example: CCC, or BBB, or AAB etc

I jsu wanted to know what you have to do when you got a uni abraod saying that u need to get:
All entering must complete 20 credits of the general required courses. These are: blah blah.....
