1 World. 1 Ummah. 1 Eid. - 2007! :D

Bismillah, Wa Salaatu Wa Salamu 'Ala Rasulillah,

As-Salaamu 'Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu.

The Eid Celebration Committee (ECC) is a unique venture set up by Al Fitrah to provide a fun filled activity event for the celebrations of Eid al Fitr 2007 and for upcoming Eid celebrations in the years to come. Not only will we be hosting an event for the Muslim community of Greater London, but we shall be forging lasting ties with the wider community all of whom will be invited to partake in this auspicious celebration. Eid breakfast and entry fee is completely free.

When Eid salah was enjoined upon the Muslims at the time of our Beloved Prophet (Peace and Blessings be upon him), the entire community would gather together in the court yard and pray as one body, bowing and prostrating to Allah Subhanahu wata’ala, united in their worship. Today, alhamdu lillah, we have thousands of Muslims all over London praying Eid Salah in their local masajid, but how beautiful would it be if we were to all gather together in one place.

How wonderful would it be for our children all over the city to celebrate Eid together on one day, to feel that unity, the way other faiths unite their children on their auspicious days of celebration? Would it not be only right then that they celebrate on the day of Eid and not a separate Eid fun day 2 weeks later confusing them and harming their future?

Our location is to be announced as we are currently looking at a variety of indoor venues as well as outdoor parks to host this event. All contributions and suggestions are greatly appreciated regarding this matter and a final choice of venue will be announced publicly in mid-September. With this event also lies ample sponsorship opportunity if you are seeking to raise awareness of your particular business, service or goods.

As a sponsor, having a visible platform will undoubtedly enhance the awareness and subsequent revenue of your service as well as serve as an unrivalled marketing opportunity. Sponsoring the Eid Celebration Day will allow firms and sponsors like you to approach new markets of consumers across a cross section of different communities. Register and confirm your spot immediately to avoid disappointment as we shall be handling clients strictly on a first-come first-served basis.

All proceeds from the sponsorships from the bazaars and funfair will be reprocessed into the overall running costs of organising the event. WE are dependant on YOUR contribution. MAKE what has been IMPOSSIBLE for years in London POSSIBLE in 2007.

Was-Salaamu 'Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu.

there is no confusion, those with understanding know that both the earth and moon are round spheres and it is not possible for moon to appear around the earth in one go, it has to circle the earth and pass the various countries at different times.

if it is above arabia it canot be above England at the same time! ok?

if we all want Eid to be on same day we either select a permanent date like Christians or pound the earth flat and suspend the moon above it and get the saudis to switch it on and off when they see fit :D

failing that we look for moon ouselves in our own countries

You forget to add "1' People". [In A-level statistics, x' means not x].
