My parents are going to Indo/Malysia soon Insha'Allah. There is a few things my Mother was wondering about as its her first time there. I thought i'd ask here as i noticed some ppl from Malaysia. She wants to know- how hot is it there, if it gets cold now, is malaria common, and.. if the authorities give any hassle to women in hijaab? Any comment or input would be appreciated!:D
Jazakallah.

Whether in Malaysia ie Kuala Lumpur nowadays is between 28° to 35° approx. The heat is ok except at noon, when you might feel a bit too warm to be walking under the sun. We have rain almost every 2 days in KL for an hour or two. If you are going to the east coast of Malaysia, it rain almost daily since the monsoon season has slowly started. The west coast would see less rain.
Malaria is NOT a problem unless they wanna go jungle trekking. In town and suburban area, there should be no threat of malaria.

Hijab - Unfortunately, in Malaysia there is no strict restriction on exposure of aurat ie. Anybody even muslim can wear anything they choose. Not very islamic in that aspect for an islamic country.

I hope they enjoy their stay in Malaysia.

Raincoats? That would not be necessary. You only buy the umbrella if it rain. I hope the weather will be fine on the days they are here. InsyaAllah

I'm glad to hear they are fine. Indonesia should be interesting now. The volcano named Anak Krakatao just erupted last sunday but it is located at the westernmost edge of the island of Jawa, so Jakarta is safe distant away.:D. Just kidding. The southeast Asia region are now in monsoon season. Similar thunderstorm can occur any day in east coast Malaysia although less in KL being away from the coast. Don't worry, thunderstorms happen during rains and with rain Allah give rahmah, what more can one ask.

When your parents land in KL, the airport could be a bit busy because the flights for hajj has started since monday. I hope they enjoy their stay in Indonesia and KL.

I just sent my best friend (for 16 years) to the airport last Thursday for hajj...

I think during departures, those airports are not overcrowded as all pilgrims have to go to Tabung Haji centres first before being escorted to the airports.

But during arrivals, it'll be ultra over-crowded as the hujjaj would leave for homes directly from the airports.

I hope all pilgrims would obtain Hajj Mabrour this year.... amin Ya Rabb!
