Why fasting today? It is the only 19, and Ramadan starts in october, no?

I actually AM fasting today. There is one clue to what my religion is (for those out of the loop about my beliefs, see my introductory post. :3)

Actually, its more I chose to fast today due to lack of groceries in my house. It was like God was saying, "forget your body for a minute and thing about your soul." Today is my detox day.

Also, I'm going vegan now, so probably is good to cleanse my body of impurities.

It was the night of Sha3baan last night brother.
:sl:

I thought we had established that singling out the night in the middle of Sha'baan was an innovation? Please see the thread:

http://www.islamicboard.com/showthre...6&page=1&pp=10

Please see the following issues:

The prohibition on fasting in the second half of Sha’baan

Should he fast on the fifteenth of Sha’baan even if the hadeeth is da’eef?

Does Allaah come down to the first heaven on the night of the fifteenth of Sha’baan?

Laylat al-Nusf min Sha’baan (the middle of Sha’baan) should not be singled out for worship
