Knowledge and actions are the inseparable twins of our faith, and are a core part of our belief.
Join us in this one day conference to learn about the aims, goals, challenges and practical targets that every Muslim should strive for in his or her Islamic education.
We will then go on to discuss the question we should all be asking ourselves, how do we use this knowledge to achieve its true purpose - beneficial actions that contribute to our society.
The Speakers
Sh Tawfique Chowdhury is the director of AlKauthar Institute, he has travelled extensively delivering classes all over the world. Sh Tawfique recently appeared on Islam channel presenting the ‘Journey to the Hereafter’ show. He is a graduate in Shariah, an experienced IT manager and is currently completing his studies in Medicine in Australia.
Sh Yasir Qadhi is currently studying for a PhD in theology at Yale University. In spite of this Sh Yasir still manages to travel to various part of the world to share his knowledge. He is a graduate in Hadith and has a Masters in Islamic theology. He has authored a number of publications and he also presents ‘The Seerah’ show on Islam channel.
Sh Waleed Basyouni holds a B.Sc in Islamic sciences, a Masters in Islamic theology and is currently working on his PhD in theology. He lives in Texas where he is an Imam and is involved in a number or organisations and projects. Sh Waleed has ijaazah in Quranic recitation and several books of hadith, and has been involved in disseminating Islamic knowledge for over fifteen years.
Sh Kamal El Mekki resides in Washington DC and dedicates his time to educating people about the fundamentals of Islam. He specialises in Islamic history, courses for the youth and has delivered his seminar on ‘dawah’ all over North America. He has previously served as an Imam and an Islamic radio talk show host as well.
