One should contemplate over what may bring him on good terms with allah:observing His Rights and the right of his slaves, pleasing all muslims, and abstaining from arrogance and pride in dealing with them all.

:sl: One can abstain from arrogance by thinking himself no better than any other Muslim. Pride is disliked by Allaah Ta'ala, and as Muslims we must be humble.

In regards to controlling one's temper, leave wherever you are and think to yourself, pray two rakats, or read a Surah from the Quraan.

Shouldnt this mindset extend to unbelievers as well? Cause of noticed arrogance for merely being a muslim.

I guess. One shouldn't be arrogant at all, it shows a sense of pride and makes one come off as condescending.
