I am aware that from the title, it should pobably be in the Misc language section. But this thread is not so that I can learn japanese but because I'd like to know how Japan is like. I don't believe in what I see in the movies or the rumours I hear from my friend. But I'd like to know about the community there, the culture, religion and about the muslim community.

I'd like to move to Japan someday insha'Allah. And I also have a certain enquiry that I'd prefer to PM anyone living in Japan.

What specifically do you want to know?

Do you want the cold harsh truth and what really happens around here? Do you want the dirt?

And why in hell would you love Japan? Itd be a big disappointment

Ask and I shall answer

If he doesnt like it snakelegs why is he still here?

Ill tell you why. SEX

Its everywhere in your face. Its cheap if you want to pay for it and depending on what you want done. You can go out and almost certainly score atleast within the week or a decent girl within 3-4weeks max. There are tons of women you could pick up in the clubs and bars that will come back to your place that night! Thats why many many foreigners stay here especially those from the west. LOSERS BACK HOME can get stuff here! And they dont want to leave because theyll lose that.
And everything surronds alcohol here. Drink drink drink

Not many can holdout in a place like this.

Oh and youll never be accepted here. Maybe amongst your friends and if married into a japanese the family members but everyone else well look at you as the foreigner. ALWAYS.

This ofcourse has its plus and downs. Plus you are automatically excused for bad behaviour or impoliteness, anger etc can always be interpreted as cultural misunderstandings, given religious freedoms, no long hours or as strict work etc and you dont have to beg or grovel like the locals.

he is saving up his money to pay back his student loan. i don't think he had any trouble finding sex here and he doesn't drink. so he is hardly a loser - has degree from berkeley in japanese studies.
he is teaching kids and is crazy about his students, but he will not stay.

I didnt say he is a loser snakelegs. But trust me if he was getting "action" there then hed be getting it very easily and a lot here no issues.

Then again not everybody is like that. But many many people this country changes with its standards of morals and double standards for men. In many ways its like a mans playground for pleasure.

Sure he is saving money. But by teaching english etc and currency exchange its probably not a lot. Many many many guys stay here for the reason I told you. Sure some guys dont like it but still stay because of that reason.

But I also met an atheist here who believed in virginity and waiting! :)

Japan is on a whole different level. Yeah its bad in the US too. But japan is a whole new level.

eg How many times have you seen an old geezer sitting on the train next to a 12-13year old school girl blatantly and openly looking at a porn magazine?

When have you seen phaedophile mags? Japan has the closest thing legal to paedophilia. They have magazines in here that very young girls as young as 9 pose in covered with minimal clothing and the primary consumers of these magazines is adult males!

There was even an interview on national tv with a mother of one of these girls and the interviewer asked her dont you think its wrong for your daughter? Dont you think its bad? She plainly said no shes not breaking the law and so what if I make money. And asked what happens if because of them she goes into prostitution, BJ bars, into porn etc and she said shell support her then too!!

How many times and how often have you seen **** like that back home in the US?

sadly genki the whole world is sick like that, trust me... it may be worse in some places more then others but its spreading.

Maybe something like a global disaster will wake these people up, everyones in need of a huge shake up...

people blame religion, they dont even look at what they support when they support their society and government.

its very sad i must say

Oh but there is much more snakelegs.

Vending machines that dispense everything from Porn magazines, alcohol, cigarettes to soiled high school girls panties! And ofcourse a machine isnt going to stop an underage kid to buy a beer etc from it.

Insist is on the rise here and its getting ridiculous.
Heres a case:

Son is supposed to be studying hard for his yr12 exams but cant focus. His mom keeps pushing him and then finally asks why he cant. He says because hes all amped up and cant get relief . So mom talks to dad and dad tells her so long as you dont sleep with him. So she goes back to him gives him oral. And repeatedly many different times and as a prize even tells him if he scores high enough he can have her too!

And lets not forget japanese men. 85% think its perfectly acceptable for a man even though married to sleep around with other women. Nobody has issues sleeping with a prostitute or going to BJ bars etc NOBODY. A man would be married here but still sleeps with random women other than his wife and still thinks its OK and not even feel bad about it!!!! Reasoning? Because when you marry the woman she becomes like your family, like your sleeping with your own mom, the excitement and chase isnt there, so running and sleeping with others is much better. Paying for it is best since no attachments etc.
Even if the woman finds out shell most likely ignore it or look the other way.

Then ofcourse theres the modern japanese women. Its basically a stigma here if your a women and still a virgin! They start losing it around 15-16years old and the longer you go the more people talk behind your back about it and the more your painted as a loser. Many lose it for NO REASON other than EVERYBODY else is doing it and I dont want to be a loser.

The funny thing is with all their pervesions and sex and freedom.

Many many many arent happy with their lives deep down.

Many live meaningless pointless lives.

Especially with women many want things better in life and a good man but cant figure out why men are pigs and why they get repeatedly dumped when all it takes for a good woman is 3-4weeks before shes in your bed.

Many people here LIVE TO WORK not WORK TO LIVE.

Add it altogether and japan has the highest suicide rates in the world!.

Everybody kills themselves here by jumping in front of a train, car, jumping of cliffs, bridges, driving their cars of mountainside, overdosing and more. THERE are even WELL KNOWN spots for all suicides in EVERY state/prefecture and even city.

There all all kinds of people here but make a generality only based on what I have seen and science. The japanese man and woman compared to an American on average is much much smaller which means automatically alcohol influences them quicker. Then Asians many have a gene missing that allows for more alcohol tolerance. So generally they cant handle too much drinks in a night out compared to the average american as an example but the effects are likewise similar.

Take this as an example:
I knew a girl who got happy with just half a bottle of beer. And was drunk by the end or 2nd bottle. Hence why alcohol is the number one arsenal in the foreign mans ambitions to get laid easy. Just make them drink under any pretext get them to lose their inhibitions and home run.

dang it got to switch from japanese to english.

Is say they do drinkn more than americans. Its part of the culture almosts.
At least social drinking. At wrok we often have parties (work oens you ahve to go to) and drinking is almost mandatory.

As for suicide. I dont knwo if its super high but i do know its well reported.
crime is pretty low here. I dont ever worry about getting anything stolen.
I use to even leave my door unlocked all the time.
(started locking to keep the sellsmen and religious witness away)

Jazakallah for the replies

about the community there, the culture, religion and about the muslim community.
I suppose brother genki has given enough information regarding the bad side of Japan. But how about something good? How's the muslim community there? How's the country side?

The country side and when I say countryside I mean the extreme country side is more conservative due to the nature of gossip and everybody spying on each other. But even then lots of bad stuff happens just not as bad as say in Tokyo osaka etc. eg Your most likely to find a virgin upto the age of 23 in the countryside. In Japan as a whole maybe only 5% of women aged 23 are virgins. 25yr old and its more like 2% And the majority of non-virgins have never been married ever. Its even getting common now where virgins SELL their virginity to a man for a price.

Muslim community brother is very small. Mainly only the big cities have the muslim communities eg Tokyo, Osaka, Kobe etc even then compared to rest of population its very small.

Think about it approx 125million population 1million only foreigners and total muslim pop maybe only 200,000 or so in Japan.

What Islam teaches us as right and what the spineless backboneless cowardful Japanese culture teaches as acceptable on many pages are totally opposites.

Sister Syilla only 1.5-2hrs away is Korea.

In korea youll probably find 80% of women are virgins and virginity is still highly rated. However sad to say the wests influence and the closeness of man with woman will inevitably lead to sins which is why virginity rates have dropped slowly. But atleast the S Koreans have a moral backbone and a spine. Very different from the Japanese.

In the North almost everybody is a virgin till marriage!

A few months ago a woman in Osaka was raped on a TRAIN! She and the guy was alone in that car but the other cars with interconnecting doors had people in them. The guy raped her and everybody saw it and was watching but nobody stopped him! Thats what japanese society has come to.
Many occasions women on packed trains are molested and people see it but dont interfere. You could be standing there and some guy will come behind you and start groping you even go as far as finger you etc but nobody will do anything about it and even YOU yourself being japanese woman will probably take it and not do anything because its SHAMEFUL for you so instead youll let him do whatever. Thats why they now have FEMALE ONLY cars.

Its nothing like the romanticism, loyality, morality etc shown in THE LAST SAMURAI etc.

Bud

Your an atheist and what you might think is acceptable and cool I dont. I enjoyed living in Korea much more why? the people were HONEST and SINCERE. In japan even the respect shown is fake and deep down you never know. And things often done to show loyality, friendship, etc all a show.

Either way it also sounds like you havent truly havent seen the dark side of japan or have but choose to ignore it.

Japans historical culture was rich and interesting and the people had some semblence of a backbone.

Yes I agree crime is low here but give it more time.

And nothing of what I have written is untrue its all true. Sad but true.

I would ignore genki, everyone can have a different experience. I also have known and do know several muslims here and most seem to enjoy japan tremendously.
Japan itself does have many many layers and perhaps a quick glance you might not understand it. genki seem to have a us vs them attitude torward japan.
