Salam wa alekum! brothers and sister

I am aiming at opening this thread so people could simply put a word which they like!, and put the meaning of the word(dnt just copy the meaning from an online source try to make it simplified, and use it in a sentence this way i could improve my english alot(and probally other people aswell), this will act as an interactive dictionary!, and its also fun to see what kind of words people come up with. so keep the post simple and clear:) thanks, if this post is unnecessary this i am sorry!, but i thought it could be a nice idea. Salam!

i have a fondness for the word "ointment", not because of its meaning, but because of its sound. i like the sound "oy".
i don't think anybody really likes ointment - its usually some gooey, gunky (often stinky) stuff in a tube that you put on your skin to treat a number of things.
OYntment lovely, isn't it? how can you take a word like this seriously? ;D

Nice idea for a thread!!hmm...
I like the loyalty and fidelity. For no particular reason really, I just like the way they sound...must be the "L".lol.

Loyalty/fidelity means faithful, truthful, being "loyal" to someone is the opposite of "betraying" someone.

my favorite word: lackadaisical - (adj) negative connotation for a care free person.

lack⋅a⋅dai⋅si⋅cal   /ˌlækəˈdeɪzɪkəl/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [lak-uh-dey-zi-kuhl] Show IPA Pronunciation

–adjective 1. without interest, vigor, or determination; listless; lethargic: a lackadaisical attempt.
2. lazy; indolent: a lackadaisical fellow.

It reminds me of a person dressed up a daisy prancing around the fields without much thought or guidance in the world.

I also like the sound of the word 'eclectic' (something that combines elements from different sources is described as an eclectic mixture)....ohhh, and 'effervescence' (from chemistry, lol; it means fizzing, or giving off bubbles)

Sometimes one is overwhelmed by ambivalent feelings.

I like the word 'ambivalent' - in the sentence it refers to having conflicting/uncertain feelings.

I make words up does that count?
I don't think so, because the thread is supposed to help improve English.

my favorite word is the name Mohammed, I love it more than Ahmad or Mahmoud or Moustapha, it is the name of our beloved prophet and my beloved brother .. and generally makes me smile whenever I see it. and I love saying it with a ح it makes it that much more special. I always thought if ever I had kids, I'd name them all Mohammed provided they were all boys :D

Mohammed the I, the II etc.

I also like 7arb (war) and sakhr (stone).. though I wouldn't bestow them as names on anyone.. I just like them on their own accord...

In English, I often use 'bozos' and 'Hilarity' and I like using them both to describe idiots on the road as such 'the hilarity of those bozos' :raging::raging::raging:
'why don't you pick a lane you bozo'-- 'watch where you are going you bozo'

they have grown on me since I use them almost daily now
