Hope all brothers and sisters are fine in Health and Iman INSHALLAH......well i like to know about ISLAMIC SCHOLARS that what is the position or you can say status of ISLAMIC SCHOLARS in the light of QURAAN and HADITH.....I mean to ask that :

1) Who are the poeple called ISLAMIC SCHOLARS?

2) What education or qualification do they need to become a scholar ?

3) Are these people suppose to be called Islamic Scholar? like a) Dr. Zakir Naik b) Haroon Yahya and all other poeple like them

4) Is there any sawab to ask any problem regarding Islam to any Scholar?

5) Are we suppose to follow Quraan and Hadith according to our own power of understanding in case of problems regarding Islam?

6) Or we suppose to follow ISLAMIC SCHOLARS?

Hope that will be good to discuss and beneficail for everyone INSHALLAH and please dont' think that I mean to point out some kind of people like Dr.Zakir Naik and Haroon Yahya....I just mentioned there name because I just wanna know about them too and as for my knowledge

Remember in prayers

Scholars are human beings and should be treated as such, they do not speak to God and they are not in touch with any special spirits or Angels, you are just as equal in the eyes of God.

Peace.

My, you are a Genius!

I would say Islamic Scholars are those who went out and searched for the understanding of faith.

I dont know the exact definition, but 'Z' has given a good idea.

on top of that i would say they try to convey Islam to other Muslims who have no studied the teachings in depth. They are able to realte issues to Quraan and Hadith quotes too

*scholars and sheilkhs are ordinary human beings like us but they are more specialised in the deen of islam as they have studied the deen in quite detail over the years

*most scholars are hafiz and most memorise a lot of hadiths to further enhance thier knowledge in islam

*you be recognised as a scholar depending on your status among the community, this can be done by being a succesful teacher or an imam of a mosque

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scholar

As you can see a scholar is someone who has studied a subject in depth.

they dont necessarily have any qualifications as such...but may have a lot of knowledge

ask your scholar if you have a problem coz if you try to solve it yourself then you might mislead yourself, so it is wiser to ask someone learned for help and advice

i agree with brother metsudaistwice. the more information and explaination you can obtain relating to a subject the better youll be able to answer your query. If someone has studied the subject then the chances are they will have more knowledge than you. This does not, however, mean that they are always right, and you may wish to get a number of opinions before coming toa conclusion.

yes always ask more than one scholars so that you have a broader understanding, and it is true that he who has studied the deen in detail is more likely to get the coorects answers to any such issues

Let me repeat, scholars are fallible human beings like me and you , who are prone to all kinds of desires and lusts; money and power being the most prominent.

Take Saudi Arabia for example, many 'scholars' there sit by idly as many other scholars are tortured in jail for insulting the Saudi regime and speaking out against it's crimes.

Your brain is the best scholar you can follow, make up your mind using the opinions of many different Scholars of opposing views. Don't just hero worship one imam of one ideology, that has come to prominence thanks to a certain oil rich regime and take his word as gospel truth.

W/salam.

Agreed. its important to look at the general idea of a "scholar" and whether their advice is generally good. Take the advice of a few scholars and make up your own mind. If you have the intention and do the research as best as you can with all the resources available to you then surely that would be the best idea

you should respect a scholar for his knowledge in deen and many scholars that are world known have earned thier status as a learned scholar who has knowledge in the deen
they should be respected
