I love Arabic calligraphy sis.
I actually (not boasting) did the calligraphy on the top half of my living room walls. Im not so sure wat that border bit that sticks out at the top of the wall is called....but thats wat I did it on.
Ill inshAllah be doing it to the Prayer room of the University my mother used to attend.InshAllah, InshAllah.

Irs not really something you can learnsweety. Its something u have to love to be able to do....well....naturally.
Give it a try. Look at some calligraphy and try and copy it!!

I use a thin very thin paint brush. thats to get the effects going. Then, I grab hold of all the paints I need.
I have,pencil and rubber to sketch the writing.

Well, I used to make portarits of the kings of saudi. This was BEFORE i found it is not allowed to draw pics of ppl.:-\
I still have them. They really are amazing.
I did a really nice piece of clligraphy with the kalimah.
I got:
Black paint
gold paint

Painted the paper balck
Wrote the kalimah in pencil (it was difficult to see but it went well-rather challenging i must say).
And then, i filled the words in gold.

Wallah!! It looked amazing!!
The teacher hung it outside the school library. I believe its still there.:coolious:

i love learning Arabic...its the grammar thats hard. the 1st year of the Alimah course is dedicated to Arabic grammar mostly... thats why its the hardest. alhamdulillah iv done the first year so i do understand some Arabic. im hoping to do the second year and onwards soon. please make dua everybody.

Arabic calligraphy is a genuine Islamic and Arabic art. It is, no doubt, the most important element of the Arabic legacy, as it is the pot wherein all Arab cultures, over succeeding generations, are merging to come up with such eternal heritage.

Its forms, however, differ, as Arabic calligraphy has surpassed the end of writing process itself to reach eternity in terms of design and styles; further becoming one of the outstanding features of Islamic arts, constituting the common denominator for all Arab and Islamic arts, either they were taking shapes of fixed buildings or mobile antiques. It was, also, used in photographing and mosques decorating, as there is not one Arab monument void of Arabic calligraphy art tang.

Today,as i promised you, i am going to post some of my teacher works in the art of calligraphy.
his name is Mohammad Faroq Al-Hadad,he is such a talented guy.
he is from Syria,he is doing calligraphy since he was 16 years old,and he wins every comptition that happens for calligraphy.his works are the best,and he is very known between the calligraphers from all around the world.
by the way, he is a doctor,and that helps him in one way or another in this kind of art.

i lurve art to bits when i used to go uni i did art i have still got my art stuff and images sometimes i will "try" to scan :), but i go a work and that so never have time :( but i will "try"

I really like the work brother, especially the different ways to produce Arabic writing.

Wow I love arabic calligraphy! But dont have time to do it. :(

The artist is from Birmingham *woohooo* he used to be a graffiti artist until he turned his talents to a modern form of islamic art. How cool is that! :shade:
