Shaikh Huzaifi, Head Imam Haram al Madni, my absolute favorite. It was his amazing voice that inspired me to memorize the Quran. I like his regular Salat recitation, and taraweeh ones too. Firm and very effective indeed. Shuraim, Hussain Al Shaikh, Sudais are quite good as well.

u must have heard the version in which they increase the tempo of reciation to save the disk or tape space.
its true that shaikh shuraim can recite very fast . but thats only in tarweeh.
u dont have sound :hiding: sis copy it on a floppy and save it in ur laptop

Actually, Shaykh Shuraim speaks very little english, my brother spent some time with him last Ramadhaan and (aaw bless him).. he couldnt speak much, however, he has a brother (cousin) who speaks English very fluently, used to translate things for him.

i have two favourite recitors..one i don't know his name but someone here linked to a site and it was the most amazing most heart wrenching recitation ever..i had to play him a dozen times within the psace of an hour..subhanAllah..truly amazing...i don't think his name is on the list though..another is this sister from SouthAfrica..she came on Islam Channel She was amazing unfortunately we didnt get to listen to her reciting because the presenters were afraid of being bombarded with negative phonecalls from men who think its haraaaaaaaam :grumbling ..so they played a tape of her reciting as an 11 year old....and i have also forgotten her name..hehe..darn my anaemia is getting worse :uhwhat

He has a very monotone, deep, one pitched voice, but its is very relaxing and it seems that he has a GREAT DEAL of Khushoo' mashallah.

If anyone happens to know this reciter PLEASe help me out, and i will pray that allah give you rewared each time i listen to his verses.

I have been listening to Sa'ad Al Ghamdhi a lot because he simply is outstanding, but i wanted to draw attention to a Qari's recital that i came accross by accident

I visited a website and they had this Qari reciting Surah An Noor and the first time i heard it i was hooked.

I searched for his name and discovered that he was called Ziyaad Patel.
A brother on this message board gave me links to a Nasheed recited by him and since then i have found a few surah's recited by him.

If anyone has not heard the recitals by Ziyaad patel i urge you to listen to one of his recitals, simply outstanding.

If anyone wants some of his recitals, please let me know and i will try and get that to you. I have a very limited collection of his, i am searching for the full Quran recital from him but have had no luck.

I searched for his name and discovered that he was called Ziyaad Patel.
A brother on this message board gave me links to a Nasheed recited by him and since then i have found a few surah's recited by him.

If anyone has not heard the recitals by Ziyaad patel i urge you to listen to one of his recitals, simply outstanding.

If anyone wants some of his recitals, please let me know and i will try and get that to you. I have a very limited collection of his, i am searching for the full Quran recital from him but have had no luck.

Yh Masha'ALLAH (SWT) he has beautiful recitation.....

I have Many different favorite reciters, but one of my absolute favorites I don't see here... Possible because my contacts are off and I just can't see very well-- it is sheikh Sala7 Ar'rashid -- his voice... Oh G-D what a voice, never the same.. sometimes grave, sometimes tender, I don't know how he does.. but jazah Allah khyran... I have memorized suret yousef insha'Allah because of him... here are my favorite surahs by him... perhaps someone should add him to the poll if he isn't already on there?

those are my favorite suras by him-- some other time I'll post my favorite other reciters but, he is certainly worthy of mention-- he made the Quran my companion on many a long and lonely drives home-- a refined and exquisite companion.

You can sense such surrender and resignation, as if you can fully identify with Jacob PBUH--- and yet he tells his sons not to give up on Allah's mercy... oh I just love this surah...

Perhaps, you are right...maybe his voice has grown through the years, but my sense, is he has the ability to relay to you what he is reciting... I know he might not have the most (3athib) voice, but his is very versatile and conveying....

I might be completely wrong here, but maybe the reason why he is not in the poll is because most people might not have heard of him or his recitations. I certainly did not know of him until i followed your links in another post. He certainly is a superb recitor.

I was suprised that Qari Ziyaad Patel was not on this poll either. I believe he is simply outstanding, but i think the same thing applies here with him, maybe he is not that well known.

can't really choose a favourite, but there are recitors that you are most likely to listen to. Another recitor....the Qur'an is beautiful no matter who the recitor is..SubhanAllah
