Caliph Al-Abbas asked his physician Isa ibn Yusuf to prepare an examination of medical competence. Doctors who did not pass the examination were debarred from medical practice. 860 men were successful, and hundreds were expelled from the profession.
Islam in China
The Ancient Record of the Tang Dynasty describes a landmark visit to China by Saad ibn Abi Waqqas (ra), one of the companions of Prophet Muhammad (s) in 650 C.E. The Chinese emperor Yung-Wei respected the teachings of Islam and considered it to be compatible with the teachings of Confucius. The emperor approved the establishment of China's first mosque at Ch'ang-an. That mosque still stands today after fourteen centuries.

Irrigation canals begin to be built in Mesopotamia and Egypt.

Agriculture begins in the valley alluvia of the Nile.
The ass, the first draft animal, is domesticated and is in common use in northeast Africa, Egypt, the Mediterranean basin, and both the Near and Far East. They are used as pack animals and are in regular service on caravan routes stretching from eastern Europe and northern Africa to India and China.

Grapes cultivated in present-day Turkestan.
Wheat, barley, peas, dates, and other fruits are grown in the Indus valley. Water buffalo, camels, and cattle are bred for food and as draft animals.

Cattle domesticated in the Middle East, probably from the wild ox Bos taurus.
Domesticated wheat is grown at Tell Mureybit on the river Euphrates, Syria.
Domesticated barley is grown at Jericho, in the Middle East.

The goat is domesticated in the Middle East at Asiab (near Iraq)
