    بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

    Sadaqa stories
The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, was distributing sheep meat in charity. He later came to ask the mother of believers A’isha if anything was left from it. She replied none is left except it’s shoulder. On that account he said to her :
Nay, all of it is left except it’s shoulder; all but the shoulder is left for us as a good reward!.”

    For mending ailment.

There was a Muslim Preacher who related his Sadaqa story in a lecture. He related that, a few years back, his little son was feeling very sick and his health conditions seemed to be in crisis a late night; as his fever reached a high level. The Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him said: “Mend your patiants with Sadaqa(Charity)”. This remarkable Hadeeth was in his mind, however it was very late at night for it to be convenient to find a poor person and give him charity. The Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him also said when he was being asked by the blessed companions weather giving water to animals is considered as a deed of reward: “ In every moist liver there is a reward”- meaning every living creature. This clearly implies that good deeds are rewarded not only when they are done to humanbeings but every creature. This Hadeeth he recalled whilst he was in the midst of his pondering. Quickly he rushed outside to find a cat which was wandering during nighttime and then he found an opportunity to present anything that is condsidered as charity in hope that his son’s health conditions would improve and recover. The next day signs of wellness could be noted on his son’s face and by the afternoon his son was well enough to play with his friends in the neighbourhood!
    Masha’Allah.

    From six dinars to sixty.

This story was said to be related on account of Imam Ali, the blessed companion of the Proph Muhammad (Peace and Blessings be upon him), and also his respected cousin. Imam Ali was at his house when a poor man came and asked for charity. Six dinars was all the money Ali had in his convenience that day, which he didn’t hesitate to give to the poor man in charity. That same day, Imam Ali set out for a walk in which he encountered a fellow person who offered to sell him his camel which he said was worth 100 dinars. Imam Ali told him that his camel was surely beautiful and it would please him that he would buy it if only he had its price. The man told Imam Ali to take the camel anyway and pay back its price whenever it was convenient, so Imam Ali departed with a camel accompanying him. While in his way he encountered another man who showed interest in the camel and asked Imam Ali to sell it for him. Imam Ali told him that the camel was worth 100 dinars, but the man was so eager that he offered to pay 160 dinars worth it. Imam Ali was now obligated to repay the camel’s price to its original owner and he had 60 dinars to keep. That day he rushed to his wife Fatima, The Prophet’s daughter, and gave her glad tidings saying: “ when we gave the 6 dinars in charity , Allah rewarded us with a multitude of it’s value and now we have 60!”.
Surely, Allah promises to reward those who give charity a multiple of the reward.

    Personal story.

One evening, a poor child from our neighbourhood came and asked for charity. At first I was a bit hesitate because I thaught that I wasn’t sure what to give and thought about telling him to come some other day but something, which I deeply assume is the Mercy of Allah, made me go towards the kitchen to find something to give in charity. When I got to the kitchen, I was struck when I found that I forgot the tea, which I made about 8 minutes prior to this, in the stove and the pot was about to blast as the water evapourated and the pot was burning. At that critical moment, Allah has sent me to close the stove- which was just a few inches away from the gas cylinder! I was grateful to Allah that He saved us from an approachment of a dangerous fire breakout! Alhamduli’Allah. ~

    Re: Sadaqa (Charity) Stories **~~Inspirational!!!!

Abdullah bin Mubaarak (R.A), the Ustaad of Imaam Bukhari (R.A), used to perform haj one year and go for jihad the other year. He relates: Once when it was my year for haj, I took five hundred dinars and left for Makkah. At Kufa I stopped and went to the camel market with the intention of buying a camel. On the other side I saw a dead duck. A woman was sitting there. She picked up the duck and started cleaning it by plucking its feathers. Seeing this I approached her and asked her: "What are you doing dear woman?"
She replied: "Why do you enquire about such things which do not concern you ?" This set me thinking. However I insisted on an answer. Then she said: "Your persistence has forced me to open my heart. I am a lady from among the Sayyids – the family of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam - I have four young daughters whose father passed away. This is now the fourth day that we have not even tasted a thing and in such dire need are we that the eating of dead animals has become permissible. I am taking this dead duck to feed my daughters."
    ANGEL PERFOMING HAJ
Abdullah bin Mubaarak (R.A.) says, her story filled me with sorrow. I told her to stretch fourth her hand and in it I placed the five hundred dinars. She took it and went home. I postponed my intention for haj and returned home. After haj I was so amazed that whenever I met any of the returning hujjaaj and wished them a "haj maqbool" they would wish me the same. Then, when I said anything further, they would remind me about having met me at such and such place. I could not understand this. That night I saw a dream, wherein Rasulullah r said to me: "O son of Mubaarak, there is no need to be astonished. You have assisted a distressed one from among my children, whereupon I begged of Allah to appoint one such angel to perform haj in your form and on your behalf until Qiyaamah and now you have a choice. You may perform haj or you may leave it." (Rushfa)

    Re: Sadaqa (Charity) Stories **~~Inspirational!!!!

When the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhum) migrated to Madeenah Munawwarah, many of them were not used to the water of Madeenah Munawwarah. However, one of the water sources from which the Muhaajireen (radhiyallahu ‘anhum) were able to drink comfortably was a certain well which belonged to a Sahaabi from the tribe of Ghifaar. The name of the well was ‘Roomah’, and this Sahaabi would earn his livelihood by selling the water of this well.

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) approached this Sahaabi and asked him, “Will you exchange this well (by giving it in the path of Allah Ta‘ala for the benefit of the Muslims) for a well in Jannah?” The Sahaabi replied, “O Rasul of Allah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam)! My dependents and I do not have any means of income besides this well.”

Hearing of what had transpired, ‘Uthmaan (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) went to the Sahaabi who was the owner of the well and paid him thirty-five thousand dirhams (silver coins) for the well of Roomah.

‘Uthmaan (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) thereafter went to Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) and asked, “Will you promise me the same reward that you promised him? (i.e. If I acquire the well and give it in the path of Allah Ta‘ala for the benefit of the Muslims, will I also receive a well in Jannah?)” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) replied, “Yes.” ‘Uthmaan (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) responded, “I have given the well of Roomah in the path of Allah Ta‘ala.”

    Re: Sadaqa (Charity) Stories **~~Inspirational!!!!

There was once a woman who had a son. One day, her son left home on a journey. After some time, she ceased to receive information regarding her son and it seemed that he had disappeared. With every day that passed, she grew anxious over her sons disappearance.

Sometime later, one day when this woman had picked up a morsel and was on the verge of putting it into her mouth, she heard a beggar at the door. Taking pity on the plight of the beggar, she gave him the entire loaf of bread from which she was eating, including the morsel that she had been on the verge of eating. Having given her food to the beggar, she had nothing to eat and remained hungry.

This woman was extremely anxious regarding the plight of her missing son and would thus exert herself in du‘aa, begging Allah Ta‘ala to return her son to her. Barely a few nights after she had given the bread to the beggar, her son returned home! On his return, he began to tell his mother of all the hardships and difficulties that he underwent while on his journey.

While recounting his experiences to his mother, he mentioned the following:

The strangest experience of all occurred as I was travelling through a certain jungle in such-and-such land. While I was riding my donkey, a lion attacked me. During the attack, my donkey fled and left me alone with the lion. The lion began attacking me with its claws, but its claws somehow became entangled in my clothing and thus failed to reach my body. The lion thus dragged me away, deeper into the jungle. Once we were further into the jungle, the lion set me down and turned towards me, ready to pounce and kill me. At that instant, a huge, strong man, fair in complexion and dressed in white clothing, appeared before us. He lifted the lion by gripping its nape with his bare hands and threw it to the ground saying, “Away, O dog! A morsel for a morsel!” The lion instantly turned on its heels and fled. As I regained my composure and calmed down, I turned to find the man who had saved me, but found that he had disappeared! I therefore remained sitting, in order to recover my wits and regain my strength. When I thereafter examined my body, I found that I was absolutely unharmed. I thus walked through the jungle until I found the caravan from which I had been separated. On seeing me safe and sound, they were utterly amazed as none had expected me to escape from the clutches of the lion. Nevertheless, after narrating my experience to them, I continued to ponder over the words uttered by the man, “a morsel for a morsel.” What could these words possibly mean?
As the youngster told his mother his amazing experience, she asked him of the time at which this had happened. When he calculated the time, she realized that it was at that exact moment that she had taken the morsel of food which was nearly in her mouth and given it to the beggar, together with the rest of her food. On account of her taking the morsel from her mouth and giving it to the beggar, Allah Ta‘ala took her son from the lion’s mouth and gave him back to her.
