Is being rich/wealthy bad in Islam? (OP)

Some of you may have better understanding of this so that's why I'm asking question. Is having lot of money bad, is being rich or poor better?

There were multi millionaire sahabas like Abdur rahman bin auf (RA), Uthman Ibn Affan (RA) etc. How did they manage wealth?

Not always are Zakat and sadaqa enough. I suggest everyone read the book التنمية و التخطيط للدكتور محمد إقبال الحضر

It's a great book. but is available in Arabic only. In it the author talks about use of money for economic development, when it is required for a Muslim to use all his wealth for useful purposes, etc. Very thought-provoking book.

A hadith says, save yourself from the Fire even by half a date.

basically meaning that if you only have 1 date and there is a hungry person, give half of it to that person. You don't say, well I have only 1 date so I don't have to give any to anyone else.

I searched for it on Google, and didn't find any.

Rasulullah Salallahu Aliahi wa Salam said:

من قرأ صورة الواقعة كل ليلة لم تصبه فاقة ابدا

Whoever recites Surah Waakiah every night will never be poor ever.” (Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Vol. 3, Pg 346.)
