Re: Inspirational quotes for the Muslim entrepreneur

If you wish for your wealth to increase and your sins to be forgiven, then give in charity” - Muhammad ibn Salih al-`Uthaymeen

"When Allah blesses us with money, we depend on the money rather than Allah. We forget that the source of our provision is not and never was the money, but rather it was the giver of that money. Suddenly we’re willing to sell alcohol to avoid losing money in our business, or we need to take out loans with interest to feel secure. In so doing we are foolishly—and ironically—disobeying the Provider in order to protect the provision." - Yasmin Mogahed

Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: "No doubt, it is better for a person to take a rope and proceed in the morning to the mountains and cut the wood and then sell it, and eat from this income and give alms from it than to ask others for something." Sahih Bukhari (Book #24, Hadith #558)

Nu’aym Ibn Abd Al-Rahman narrated that the Prophet (PBUH) said, “Nine-tenths of the sustenance (rizq) is derived from trade."

The Prophet (pbuh) said: “An honest and sincere businessman will be raised with the prophets, siddiqin and the shuhada.‟ (Hadith, Tirmidhi)

"When you see a person who has been given more than you in money and beauty, look to those, who have been given less." (Muslim)

Re: Inspirational quotes for the Muslim entrepreneur

Money is a test from Allah. What are you doing with all your wealth, buying new clothes and shoes or are you extending some to the poor?

When your money comes from Halal, even a minimum wage will be sufficient to live a good life. When your money comes from Haram, it will always feel as if it’s never enough, even if you are making millions.

Islam allows the rich to get richer but prevents the poor from getting poorer.

"As a Muslim we shouldn't be money focused. Be legacy driven and use money as a scorecard so as a resource to have scale up your legacy building. KFC spend 1,000s promoting a burger, how much do you spend on spreading Islam? Be forward thinking." - Aaqib Ahmed

Prophet Muhammad (saw) was an entrepreneur. He married Khadijah (RA) who was a very successful businesswoman. They were both trustworthy and honest. They were hereafter focused and achieved a lot in this life too.

“I lose sleep at night with how many secrets of the universe lay undiscovered because 1.3 billion Muslims, who in an ancestral time, would have participated in this enterprise, that are now not. It’s in the cultural heritage - all we are asking is to resurrect it.” - Neil De Grasse Tyson

“… now we think to be humble we have to think low of yourself so guess what? If you think that you are stupid, if you think that are dumb, if you think that you can’t do anything then you are not going to do anything with your life. The entire ummah is thinking like that, the entire world is going to do nothing and when we look around the world today, the Muslims are not leading in any fields. It’s because we don’t have the confidence to lead, we are killing each others confidence.” – Abu Muawiyah

Re: Inspirational quotes for the Muslim entrepreneur

“We sometimes just have to let things be.

There are times in life that things happen, and we just cannot control them. There are times when we don't want things to happen, but they do. Things that we don't want to know, we learn. Times in which people we can't live without, we have to let go.

The greatest learning is accepting what has, what is, and what will be. Remaining focussed on where we want to go, and how we want to get there. It might not go the way we planned, or the way we hoped it would be. No one said life would be easy, but at least we keep trying, and working hard at making it the best life it can be.”

    - Aisha Mirza

"Be the person a younger girl looks up to and says, 'I can do this, because she's done it.'" - Shazia Saleem

‘Life is about so much more than fulfilling your dreams. It’s about fulfilling your spiritual purpose on earth. Don’t miss this opportunity. You won’t get another.’
—from the journal of Umm Zakiyyah

"It's 2025. What have you done in the last 10 years? InshaAllah, I would love to say: I helped inspire an entire generation of Muslims to be creative thinkers, been responsible for some of the Ummah's most loved brands, products & experiences, and helped make Islam cool & fun to young people globally. Dream big friends" - Peter Gould

“A wise man once said, a candle illuminates but light focused is a laser and a laser cuts through steel…. This is what the vision does, it focuses us. It tells us who we are, it tells us who we are not, it tells us why we do what we do, why we do not… Having vision is very addiction. Once you get it, you will hate to live a day without it. This is what makes a visionary different to a person who isn’t”. - Shiekh Sajid Umar

"Getting paid a lucrative salary or an average salary is no different at the end of the day because you're still an employee. That means, by definition, you're still working to make someone else rich."

"The believer is like Rain, wherever he goes he brings Goodness" - [Prophet Muhammad, ﷺ]

Abu Umamah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “O son of Adam, it is better for you to spend in charity and to withhold is evil for you, but there is no blame if you withhold for necessary living. Begin with your dependents, and the upper hand that gives is better than the lower hand that takes.”
    [Sahih Muslim 1036]

"Actions are but by intention and every man shall have only that which he intended..."
    [Bukhari and Muslim]

Narrated by Abdullah Bin Mas'ud (RA):
Allah's Apostle said, "Do not wish to be like anyone except in two cases: the one whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it righteously, and the one whom Allah has given wisdom and he acts accordingly."
    [Sahih Bukhari, Fateh-al-Bari page 177 Vol. 1]

“There was a merchant who would lend to the people, and whenever his debtor was in difficult circumstances, he would say to his employees, ‘Forgive him so that God may forgive us.’ So, God forgave him.”
    [Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith 292]

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was asked what type of earning was best, and he replied: ” A man’s work with his hands and every (lawful) business transaction.”
    [Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 846]
