    Bank Loan with interest

    Report bad ads?

I need a huge amount of money for my brother's visa. We are sending him abroad for work. I need it within a very short time and there is no one else to help out. I am planning to take a loan and I am well aware of riba and usury but my question is can I ask for forgiveness later? Can I compensate for it in any other way?

    Thank you and regards.

    Asalaamualaykum:
It is admirable that you mentally realise the sin in the matter.

Allah SWT doesn't limit his mercy from the sin a Muslim. Yes you can ask for forgiveness in any matter BUT No living soul in this world can assume the position and judgement of Allah SWT and tell you whether you will be forgiven or not.

I can understand what you asking, that even though you have predetermined the action of the sin - is there a way out...Well that's is totally between your level of isthighfara and the mercy that Allah SWT wants to show you.

Is there any fatwa website for further discussion on this matter?

There are many online ones. If you already identified the matter at hand as usury (which you did), then I fail to understand which Mufti will say that it is ok.

As I said, you can for Istighfara but no living soul can guarantee that will be accepted.

I'm not sure what you are looking for here...because simply put - no human can assume the position of Allah SWT.

This is the same as me asking you that I predetermine a sin like murder, Can I ask for forgiveness ? Well obliviously I can ask for forgiveness but only Allah SWT will know the outcome to the acceptance or rejection of that Istighfara

    Re: Bank Loan with interest

A Muslim should not sin willfully, assuming he can ask for forgiveness later on because nobody knows when death can overtake him. It could be before he gets a chance to repent.

Ask for non-riba based loans from friends or well-wishers and it is not sufficient, then keep asking Allah to open a way for your brother by increasing the Du'a in Tahajjud and after Fardh prayers. If you firmly resolve not to engage in any sin, Allah will surely make a way out for you.

Also, increase istighfar as much as possible. Because the messenger of Allah, said: "من لزم الاستغفار ، جعل الله له من كل ضيق مخرجاً ومن كل هم فرجاً، ورزقه من حيث لا يحتسب‏" "If anyone constantly seeks pardon (from Allah), Allah will appoint for him a way out of every distress and a relief from every anxiety, and will provide sustenance for him from where he expects not." [Abu Dawud]

And Allah says that Nuh said to his people,

And said, 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver.
He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers
And give you increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers.
    [Surah Nooh: 10-12]

    Re: Bank Loan with interest

I have two questions for this issue.

    1. Generally, if the result of a sinful action leads to a better purpose, that means if you dont do that specific action you will automatically commit a worse sin, then it is allowed to do this action which is forbiden in normal conditions. For example it is haram to eat pork meat but if you starve to death out of hunger and it is the only food you have, you can eat it. Because it is fardh to keep yourself alive and haram to let yourself die. So, if the result of not being able to go to America causes a worse haram than riba, isn't it considered halal? Though I dont know the circumstances of this example.

    2. Is taking loan with interest really haram? Because I need money and they are source which supllies it. Yes They must give it without interest(usuary) Islamically. But they dont and this doesn't help my condition of being in need of money. I still need it. They for sure commit the sin but do I?
