Why does Islam command the stoning of Adulteress men and women and flogging of fornicators?
Let us see the conditions for stoning to take place.
1)-Four Solid Eye Witnesses.
I have used the word Solid.The reason is because the eye witnesses must witness the action with their eyes.They cannot be Eye witnesses if they saw them beneath a blanket etc.Meaning 100% if not 1000% certainity that PENETRATION did take place.
2)-Conditions for Eyewitness.
The Eye witnesses cannot be anybody.The Eyewitnesses must be true Muslims who are trusted and are known to society for being truthful.They must not have any event in their pasts which raises doubts about them being truthful.
3)-The Eye witnesses who give false testimony will be flogged.So one would think ten times before giving false testimonies.
4)-Now let us be honest.
It is virtually impossible that 4 Solid,True Muslims will witness two people committing the act with 100% certainty inside the closed doors of their houses.It is difficult to get even one eyewitness.
The only way this can happen is when it is done publicily.
Hence,This punishment is in place to stop the acts of Adultery and Fornication to be done in Public,which would corrupt the Society and children and young people in specefic.
Hence Stoning is done for Adultery and flogging is done for Fornication.
The conditions are same for both of them.
