    Could someone refute this argument trying to falsify Muhammad SAW?

    There was a video which attempted to disprove our prophet SAW's validity by claiming that one of the prophet's claim has been falsified due to his death. The argument goes as follows:

    Muhammad SAW ate poisoned lamb mutton given to him by a Jewish lady and said that Allah will not allow it to harm him

    Anas reported that a Jewess came to Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him) with poisoned mutton and he took of that what had been brought to him (Allah's Messenger). (When the effect of this poison were felt by him) he called for her and asked her about that, whereupon she said: I had determined to kill you. Thereupon he said: Allah will never give you the power to do it.He (the narrator) said that they (the Companion's of the Holy Prophet) said: Should we not kill her? Thereupon he said: No. He (Anas) said: I felt (the affects of this poison) on the uvula of Aitah's Messenger.
    (Sahih Muslim, Book 026, Number 5430)

    However, before his SAW's death, he said that he could feel the poison again:

    The Prophet (ﷺ) in his ailment in which he died, used to say, "O `Aisha! I still feel the pain caused by the food I ate at Khaibar, and at this time, I feel as if my aorta is being cut from that poison." (Sahih al-Bukhari 4428)

    The video then concludes that since the prophet SAW had died from the poison, he is a false prophet because Muhammad SAW stated that it will never kill him.

    Jazakallah khair brother. I hope Allah SWT rewards you for refuting some parts of the argument. However, I would appreciate it if you could answer some points which were not answered in the article:
    How do we explain the fact that Muhammad SAW suffered from the poison before death?
    Some people say that because he SAW died from the poison he is a martyr. If he SAW did not die from the poison, does that also mean he is not a martyr as they say he is?

    Jew lady intended to kill him (saw) straight away or within days and that never happened. poison will kill within hours if not minutes.

    The Prophet (saw) died a natural death as he lived to be an old man and Malakul Maut asked permission to take (Prophet's (saw) soul. Allah offered Prophet ('saw) longer life but he chose to meet Allah

    The poison effect during his death was part of the mercy of Allah to mankind that the Prophet ('saw) bore a lot of hardship in order that we the ummah could have it easier, so the poison part was how Allah used it to a beneficial effect rather than it having the murderous effect the jew woman wanted.

    Even now in UK law for example, if a person is wounded by someone and that person dies within a year then it is considered that the wounder killed him, but even if it is 1 day after a year, then the wounder won't be charged with murder.

    The Prophet (saw) died many years after the poisoning incident

    Tell that to those 'falisfier' accusers!

    We have in hadith that when malakul mout put his hand on Prophet's (saw) chest to take his heart, the Prophet (saw) said that he felt as if mount uhud fell on his chest

    And the preacher explained that Allah gave so much hardship to Prophet (saw) even to his last breath because that's the way Prophet (saw) would want it, to make so much sacrifice for this deen and establish it with the most hardship being on him rather than on his comparably feeble ummah

    So the Prophet (saw) took on himself most of the hardship that otherwise we would have had to bear. SubhanAllah what a man

    What is the reference to this hadiith? Are you falsely attributing things to the Messenger of Allaah (Sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam)?

    Are you passing on information without first verifying it?


    Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) said:

    No, he didn't. Another false hadiith. No wonder you have an issue with my weak hadiith compilation. Not only do you have no knowledge in the field of mustalah al-hadiith, you are one of those lads who gives narrating what he hears. How horrid.


    This hadiith is extremely weak according to some scholars and fabricated according to others.

    Ibn Hajar and Ibn Katheer declared it weak and Sheikh al-albaani graded it fabricated.

    Here is the matn of the hadiith you just heard on YouTube and decided to spread it among st people without telling them if it was authentic or not. How dishonest.


    Jibriil entered upon the Prophet and said the angel of death is at the door and is asking permission to enter upon you. He has not asked anyone before you for permission. Thereupon, he said to him: O Jibriil give him permission and the angel of death entered. And he said: Peace be upon you O Messenger of Allaah. Allaah has sent me to give you a choice between remaining in this world or that you join with Allaah. Thereupon the Prophet said: Rather, (I choose) the rafiiq al-'alaa, rather (I choose) the rafiiq al-'alaa.


    You definitely have lost all credibility. How dishonest. Sharing with people extremely weak, possibly fabricated ahadiith and not even telling them.

    This is an old argument used by the enemies of Islaam. The scholars of hadiith have already answered it.


    Poison kills on the spot. The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) did not die on the spot. Rather, he (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) lived a blessed life for three years after this event.

    Then when his appointed time came, Allaah caused the poison to have affect so that he (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) may be blessed with the shahaadah (martyrdom)



    It is mentioned in Volume 15 Page 92 of umdah al-Qaari Sharh Sahih al-Bukhaari

    There is a manifest miracle of his (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) in this (incident) in so much as that the poison did not affect him and the one who ate with him died.



    It is mentioned in volume 12 Page 94 of sharh al-zurqaanii ala al-Muwaahib al-ladunniyya bi al-minah al-Muhammadiyya:

    And from his miracles is that the poison did not have any affect on him at the time because they said if he is a prophet, it will not harm him. When it had no affect on him, they knew without a doubt that he was a prophet to the extent that it has been said that the Jewish woman became a Muslim. Then, it had an affect on him after three years and this was so that he could be bestowed with the honor of martyrdom.



    So, there you have it. If anything, this incident was a miracle. It affirmed he (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) was a Prophet. The poison did not kill him (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) or have any affect on him (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) at the time like poison does.

    They ask you about the sacred month - about fighting therein. Say, "Fighting therein is great [sin], but averting [people] from the way of Allah and disbelief in Him and [preventing access to] al-Masjid al-Haram and the expulsion of its people therefrom are greater [evil] in the sight of Allah . And fitnah is greater than killing." And they will continue to fight you until they turn you back from your religion if they are able. And whoever of you reverts from his religion [to disbelief] and dies while he is a disbeliever - for those, their deeds have become worthless in this world and the Hereafter, and those are the companions of the Fire, they will abide therein eternally.

    [Qur'aan 2:217]



    O you who have believed, if you obey a party of those who were given the Scripture, they would turn you back, after your belief, [to being] unbelievers.

    [Qur'aan 3:100]


    O you who have believed, if you obey those who disbelieve, they will turn you back on your heels, and you will [then] become losers.


    [Qur'aan 3:149]



    And a faction of the People of the Scripture say [to each other], "Believe in that which was revealed to the believers at the beginning of the day and reject it at its end that perhaps they will abandon their religion,

    Are we obliged to accept the opinion of scholars who've declared this hadith as weak or fabricated....?

    Jazakallah khair brother, but there is still one problem. The problem is that Muhammad SAW said that the poison would never kill him. So it doesn’t matter if the poison affected the prophet immediately or after 4 years, if the prophet SAW did indeed die from the poison, that would mean that his SAW statement was falsified (nauthubillah) which is exactly the trap which the anti-Muslims want us to fall into.

    Respected Brother, I have a question in my mind that is seriously bothering me. I have red somewhere in hadith that a jewish woman tried to poison the prophet (PBUH). Can you explain this? Hadith say that a jewish woman tried to poison the Prophet (PBUH) and he passed away from affects of the poison. I am dividing my questions into two parts:- Part 1: If we look at the narration, we will find that Prophet (PBUH) himself said that Allah will never give power to her in what she intended to do:- Anas reported that a Jewess came to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) with poisoned mutton and he took of that what had been brought to him (Allah's Messenger). (When the effect of this poison were felt by him) he called for her and asked her about that, whereupon she said: I had determined to kill you. Thereupon he said: Allah will never give you the power to do it. He (the narrator) said that they (the Companion's of the Holy Prophet) said: Should we not kill her? Thereupon he said: No. He (Anas) said: I felt (the affects of this poison) on the uvula of Allah's Messenger. (Sahih Muslim, Book 026, Number 5430) In the above hadith, we can clearly see Prophet (PBUH) saying "Allah will never give you the power to do it." Then how can poison affect him? Part 2: Jewish woman tried to test the Prophet that if he (PBUH) was a true Prophet then the poison would not harm him. Prophet said, "Allah will never give you the power to do it." Then how can poison affect him? All of these questions are causing serious doubts in my mind and compelling me to reject those hadiths which say that Prophet (PBUH) was ever poisoned. Moreover, are these Hadiths authentic? Some narrations say that Prophet (PBUH) died from fever. Can you give references for that? If you provide me references, then will it not mean that a hadith is contradicting another? These arguments are also brought by anti-Islamic. Please pray for my guidance and your early reply will be highly appreciated.

    All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.

    Firstly, it should be noted that revealed texts (of Quran and Sunnah) can never be contradictory with one another; what sometimes seems to be contradictory thereof is the result of our poor understanding of the texts. We should first question our understanding before hastening to deny the revealed texts; committing thereby a grave prohibition.

    The Ahaadeeth which indicate that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, died from the effect of poison in the food that a Jewish woman served him are authentic and narrated in Saheeh Al-Bukhari, Saheeh Muslim, and other Hadeeth books. For instance, there is the Hadeeth to which you referred in the question. It is reported by Anas and cited in Saheeh Muslim. Moreover, ‘Aa’ishah narrated another Hadeeth to that effect that was presented in Saheeh Al-Bukhari.

    Hence, there is no room for claiming that such reports are unauthentic. Furthermore, such reports do not contradict the fact that Allaah would have never given the Jewish woman the power to harm the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam. Scholars have explained the meaning of that remark. Ibn Muflih wrote, “The meaning of the verse that reads (what means): {…And Allaah will protect you from the people…} [Quran 5:67] is that Allaah protected the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, from being subject to people’s oppression, control, or power; this never happened. The intended meaning is that Allaah protected the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, from that which none other than him was protected. For instance, Jaabir reported, “While the Messenger of Allaah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, was sleeping, a Bedouin came to him, and took his sword stealthily. The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, woke up while the Bedouin was standing by his head, holding his unsheathed sword. He challenged him and said, 'Who will save you from me?' The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, replied: 'Allaah!' So he, sheathed it (i.e. the sword) and sat down. The Messenger of Allaah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, did not punish him.” This is why some of the Companions who ate from the poisoned meat died from the effect of poison. The Jewish woman meant that if he, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, was not a true Prophet of Allaah, he would die from the effect of the poison. In fact, he, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, lived normally for years after eating from that poisoned food. This Jewish woman did not kill him the way she wanted as she did with those who died immediately after eating the poisoned food. Allaah honored His Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, as usual and did not cause him to die from the effect of that poison immediately. Instead, he died of its effect after years so as to attain the refined status of martyrdom. In fact, there is no contradiction between the religious texts in this regard. In fact, to reconciliate between them by understanding them in the context of one another is better.” [Al-Aadaab Ash-Shar‘iyyah]

    Hence, the Hadeeth means that this Jewish woman did not accomplish her objective of killing the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, immediately with that poison and that Allaah caused this poison to remain in the body of the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, for years until he, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, died from its effect years after that incident so as to honor him with martyrdom. For further information, please refer to Fatwa 56186.

    This explanation does not contradict the Jewish woman’s statement, ‘If you are a true prophet, then the poison would not harm you,’ since the immediate effect of poison is normally 'death'. Al-Haafith Ibn Hajar wrote, “The Jewish woman said, ‘If you were a true prophet, then the poison would not harm you,’ means that the poison would not harm him like it normally does …” [Fat-h Al-Baari]

    The fever from which he, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, suffered prior to his death was one of the effects of that poison. Ibn Rajab wrote, “He, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, was in intense pain while on his deathbed that he, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, fainted many times. People thought that he, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, had pleurisy; so, they forced medicine through the side of his mouth. When he, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, regained his consciousness, he rebuked them and said: “Verily, Allaah would have never afflicted me with pleurisy. My pain is caused by the food of Khaybar (i.e. of the Jewish woman who was from Khaybar).”” He, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, stated that the pain that he was suffering during his death was due to the poisoned meat of the goat offered to him by the Jewish woman. He, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, used to experience pain from the effect of the poison from time to time. At the time of his death, he said: ‘I still feel the painful effect of that food I ate at Khaybar, and this is the time when my aorta is being cut because of its poison.’ Ibn Mas‘ood and others believed that he, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, died as a martyr from the effect of that poison.” [Lataa’if Al-Ma‘aarif]

    Jazakallah khair for the answer brother. I have already read this answer before but the question still remains: how can the prophet SAW die from poison when he said that Allah SWT would never let it harm him? The article addresses this issue by saying that “never allow it” means that the poison did not immediately harm the prophet SAW nor did the poison work as intended ie. straight away. But where did the person who wrote this answer get that interpretation from because this was not implied in the Hadith? And the question still remains unanswered as “never” means that the poison will not kill him ever- neither immediately nor after the span of 4 years but people still say that the poison did effect and indeed kill the prophet. So how would we reconcile this?

    So brother, to sum up I am trying to ask how can the poison kill our prophet SAW when he said that “Allah will never allow it”
