Salaam, can someone please give me an explanation of this Hadith it has been confusing me for a long time

If they meet and the maniy of the man prevails over the maniy of the woman, it will be a male, by Allah's leave. If the maniy of the woman prevails over the maniy of the man, it will be a female, by Allah’s leave.”

Rare and startling film has been captured of a human egg emerging from the ovary.
Fertile women release one or more eggs every month, but until now, only fuzzy images had been recorded.
The new images were taken by accident by gynaecologist Jacques Donnez while carrying out a partial hysterectomy on a 45-year-old woman.
The release of an egg was thought to be a sudden event, but the pictures published in New Scientist magazine show it takes over 15 minutes for the translucent yellow sphere to emerge.
“The release of the oocyte (immature egg cell) from the ovary is a crucial event in human reproduction. These pictures are clearly important to better understand the mechanism,” Donnez, from the Catholic University of Louvain in Brussels, said.
Shortly before the egg is released, enzymes break down the tissue in a fluid-filled sac on the surface of the ovary that contains the egg. A reddish protrusion forms and then a hole appears from which the egg emerges.
The egg is surrounded by supporting cells, which protect it as it enters the Fallopian tube on its way to the uterus.
Professor Alan McNeilly, from the Medical Research Council's Human Reproduction Unit in Edinburgh, told the BBC:
"It really is a fascinating insight into ovulation, and to see it in real life is an incredibly rare occurrence. ...

If the Prophet said it - then it is true.
There is still much to learn on the topic as we advance through the ages.
Look at that simple case of an egg popping out, it was believed by most scientists to be an instant event until the latest observation.
Consider the metamorphosis into pigs and apes verse in the Quran - and consider the latest findings on xenotransplantation, i hope you will agree that an illiterate ex-shepherd turned businessman from the sixth century was not simply speaking of his own desire, but appears to have been receiving extraordinary news from a Source Rich in knowledge way above what humans can fathom, and since his teachings and the message he conveyed are just and universally harmonious up until this day, and since the leadership of evil have displayed their desperate disdain for and enmity towards it (despite happily harbouring the temples of satan themselves) -i can logically and confidently accept that his communications were not from satanic jinn -but actually from the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens and the earth (that -aside from the other clear proofs of which the satanic leaders of evil and usurer puppets dislike to discuss openly).
Also, genes change with every incident, and i am no expert on the topic - but if the hadith is actually authentic, i could hypothesize that the internal regional climate and chemical composition of the location where the sperm meets the female water affects the genes, or that both cells keep a record of the time, or that the first to be released is more mature by the time they meet (since this is possibly a record of millions of years replaying at ultra-high speed) - or a myriad of other speculatons - but since this isn't something that effects my deen and doesn't require me to make a judgement in order to avoid injustice - i would say it is best to focus on being a better person in Allah 's sight -and let time and sincere reasearch confirm or reject the authenticity of the narration - and even if ongoing scientific research rejects the notion, i wouldn't discard the hadith, but retain it (if necessary -in a different section) so that future generations can study it and ponder in light of what they find.

The compilation of ahadith was not based upon "chance" -but rather upon high probability, low probability, likelihood, possibility, improbability, impossibility and a few other measures.
It is a human effort to preserve the narrations attributed to the Prophet based on a very strict and meticulous method by individuals whom the majority of Muslims -including myself- believe to have been very sincere and truthful in their efforts to preserve the strongest narrations.
Even then, since I do not know the unseen, and wasn't present at the time the statement was first coined, i can only do my best to comprehend, ponder, and confirm/deny when presented with a case especially concerning justice vs injustice, and this is the situation of people more knowledgeable than myself. Even then, i must be ready to humbly accept the truth when Allah confirms or denies a notion long held by myself since He is the Owner of truth - and i would no doubt be a stupid idiot if i rejected the truth after previously having held false notions such as the existence of ten armed godesses, and three-in-one and one-divided-by-three gods, or notions that my forefathers were gods whose every word were to be accepted without question, or that i should fight against true believers who are on the path of obvious haqq -simply because some ancestors of mine fought against them, or that i shouldn't read the Quran because it is not the religion of my forefathers ..... It would be quite unscientific innit?
The respected scholar who penned the hadith questioned its authenticity, put it through some critical benchmark tests, then decided it was sufficiently strong enough to add to the book which he had reserved for stronger narrations.
But - i'm sure you will agree that there is the possibility -even if remote- that a mistake was made at the hospital (if you were born in a hospital that is) when labelling you, or that your mother commited adultery and then attributed paternity to you falsely and thereby deceived your teachers into calling you mustafa ibn xyz ... and genetic testing would either confirm or deny that, I'm sure you'd agree that that's a sound minded and scientific method.
There also a possibility that some false attibutions or mistakes, or slight variations due to memory retention made it through to some of the books.
Then you might say the same thing regarding the Quran, also a possibility - but a very very low probability in my opinion - to the extent that i can back its teachings myself and vouch for its authenticity, more so than someone else can vouch for and back the claim that the sun rises in the east -and that it will continue to do so every day.
Or maybe even the very existence of God, i can vouch for it more than a person can vouch for the existence of america despite never having been there themselves - since the evidence for God's existence is stronger than the evidence that america exists, therefore, proving to me that egypt exists wouldn't dent my faith in the existence and justice of God, but would rather strengthen my faith - it's called yaqeen - happy ?
