Basic Beliefs Of Hinduism And Muslims

Islam:
In Islam, belief in One God is the most important belief. Allah in arabic refers to the One God. It is a known fact that every language has one or more terms that are used in reference to God and sometimes to lesser deities. This is not the case with Allah. Allah is the personal name of the One true God. Nothing else can be called Allah. The term has no plural or gender. This shows its uniqueness when compared with the word god which can be made plural, gods, or feminine, goddess. It is interesting to notice that Allah is the personal name of God in Aramaic, the language of Jesus and a sister language of Arabic. The One true God is a reflection of the unique concept that Islam associates with God. To a Muslim, Allah is the Almighty, Creator and Sustainer of the universe, Who is similar to nothing and nothing is comparable to Him.
(monotheism)
In Islam, all humans are created equal. For example, there is no superiority of an Arab over a non-Arab, or vice versa. Blacks and whites have no superiority over each other. The same holds with any other nationality or ethnicity. Islam rejects characterizing God in any human form or depicting Him as favoring certain individuals or nations on the basis of wealth, power or race. He created the human beings as equals. They may distinguish themselves and get His favor through virtue and piety only.
Muslims eat all wholesome and good food including meat of Cow (beef), lamb, goat, and chicken.
Muslims believe that each person has a body and soul. At death, your body is separated from your soul. Your faith and actions in this life will determine your fate in the Life After Death. There is a Day of Judgment when this life will come to an end for every one, and all humans from Adam to the last person, will be brought to a second life, rejoining of your body and soul. On that Day, God will put people in Hell or Heaven based on their beliefs and deeds of this life.

Hinduism:
Hinduism has many deities. This is much like ancient Greek and Roman religions. The god Brahma is the creator of the world. The god Vishnu who preserves the world through his many incarnations. The god Shiva will destroy the world which will be rebuilt by Brahma. In their Rig-Veda Book, we find prayers to some 70 objects, each serving as a deity. The concept of god Brahma is similar to the concept of Trinity in Christianity. The Brahma is responsible for all workings of the world and everyone is a part of him. Different gods are viewed as different aspects of him. (polytheism).
Hinduism has a caste system, with four major castes. Members of each are required by strict religious laws to follow certain hereditary occupations and to refrain from intermarriage or eating with members of the other castes. The highest, or priestly and intellectual, caste is that of the Brahmans. The remaining three in order are Kshatriya (ruling or warrior caste), Vaisya (common artisan and agricultural caste), and the Sudras (the low caste people).
Cow is a sacred animal and a deity for Hindus. Cows, therefore, can not be killed or eaten in Hinduism.
Hinduism believes in body and soul. Your soul returns to your body after your death. This cycle repeats seven times according to some. Your status or caste in next life depends on your deeds of the previous life.
This is called Reincarnation in Hinduism.

--I heard that Sykhs believe in one God. Ok. They also said that they are the children of God. Which means God has a partner(istaghfirullah) which means they don't believe in one God..

This is what you heard but how would you know if it was true? If you heard anything would you believe it? That is why it is essential to have the source to verify.

Please read regarding Sikhs:

Sikhism, which developed during the early 16th century in the state of Punjab in North India, is an admixture of Islamic and Hindu elements in addition to other teachings devised by their leaders. Certainly they are not Muslims. From the onset of their religion, they have openly declared their disavowal of Islam.

In their prayers, they recite: “I do not follow the religious ways preached by various religions believing in Ram, Mohammed, Puran or Qur'an.”

The founder of this sect, Guru Nanak, proclaimed that he had seen Allah and that Allah had commanded him to call people to this new religion.

This man has permitted his followers to drink liquor and eat pork. However, he forbade them beef in deference to the Hindus.

When this sect ruled Punjab in the eighteenth century, they severely oppressed and persecuted the Muslims. During the English occupation of India, they were loyal to the British and many of their menfolk were part of the largest British army ever assembled. This army had as one of its primary purposes the suppression of Muslim liberation movements.

Regarding their claim that they believe in one God, we would say that will not be of any help to them until they actually worship Allah alone in accordance with the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him).

The only religion wroth any of our time is Islam, but i'd also like to say that Jewish and cristinatiy has some truth to it as both religions have reveled books but sadly they've been altered so my view is we should have some understand of these all three religions.

Indeed you are correct. Might I just add that...
It is essential for us muslims to also learn about Judasim and Christianity. because they are the people of 'the book'. Indeed it is true that they have some acurate truth inside their holy books. However, is it indeed ignorant to just simply abandon the teachings of both relgions just because their beliefs differ from our beliefs. That is simply not right. All 3 relgions do indeed have lot in common. For instance all three relgions are monothesim. That means we all believe that there is a God and one God only. Now for the Chritianity faith, they believe that Jesus was God's son which differs from our Islamic beliefs in adherence to God. Please take a look:

And this is the blessed Book which We have sent down, so follow it and fear Allah that perhaps you may receive mercy. Lest you (pagan Arabs) should say: ‘The Book was sent down only to two groups who came before us, and for our part, we were unaware of what they studied’.” [Sûrah al-An`âm: 155-156] The two groups that these verses refer to are the Jews and the Christians.

Re: Basic Beliefs Of Hinduism And Muslims

I feel it is an error for any of us to state the beliefs of a religion other then our own. This is something that will rapidly result in error and/or the bashing of religious beliefs.

I see this thread heading in no direction except towards an unneeded arguement. Let us use this forum to ask questions about each others religions and state our reasons for disbelieving in the appropriate threads.

this thread will only result in emotional attacks with no genuine clarification of opposing views. Before we all loose I am closing the thread. Carry any questions to the appropriate threads.
