:: Islam as seen in the Bible (1) ::

The reader may be wondering what " Islam " has to do with the Bible , as the Bible is the holy book of Christians, and Islam is different religon altogether !!

As we shall see , this is a superfical judgment




" Islam " is the original name of this religon revealed by Goad. It is recorded in the holy book of Islam ( )


The [ only true ] religion ( way of life ) in the sight of God is Islam .. Chapter 3: verse 19 ..

( ان الدين عند الله الإسلام ) << arabic

If anyone desires a religion other than Islam, never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter he shall be among the losers .. 3:85 ..

(ومن يبتغ غير الإسلام دينا فلن يقبل منه وهو في الآخرة من الخاسرين)



A person who practice " Islam" is a " Muslim "

The root letters s-l-m occur in the two related words in the Arabic language

[ Arabic is a sister language to Hebrew ( of the Old Testament ) snd a sister language to Aramaic, spoken by Jesus ( pbuh) ... ]



The name Islam is not just a word for identification

as for example " fish " ; a sea animal with certain features is recognized as " fish ", but the word " fish " by itself does not carry any functional meaning

This is not the case with the word " islam "

it is not just a name for identification

it has tow elements of meaning:

a- submission to the will of the One and Only God , the true God
b- peace ( the same root as in " As-slam Alikom " , meaining " peace be unto you " )

In fact, these two meaning are not spreate from each other , they are interrelated
