Re: Mother Teresa- Heaven or Hell?

If a person recieves the clear message of Islam and rejects it then inevitably there abode will be Hell, however if a person does not recieve the message of Islam they will go through a test on the Day Of Judgement to see whether or not they would accept it.

Allah (SWT) does not do injustice to anyone whether you accept Islam or not you will be repaid in full either in this life or in the hereafter depending on the path you chose.

Take Abu Talib the uncle of the Prophet (SWH) who was so close to him almost like a father, he helped and aided the Prophet (SWH) yet he died without Islam, the Prophet (SWH) prayed greatly for him yet the verse was revealed:

"It is not fitting, for the Prophet and those who believe, that they should pray for forgiveness for Pagans, even though they be of kin, after it is clear to them that they are companions of the Fire" (At-Tawba:113)

It is not for any human being to condemn anyone to hell or heaven, only Allah (SWT) can judge, as he is the best of judges.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “If a man says that the people are damned, then he is the damnedest of them all.”

Dear Brother of Islam. There are conditions to be met under such circumstances. If somebody has never heard about Islam or Prophet Muhammad (salla Allaahu 'alayhi wa sallam), then the only way they can be saved is by worshipping one God alone.

Even if the person has never, ever heard about Islam, but they die worshipping something else or taken an intermediate between him and God (e.g. ascribing a partner to God), then they will die a Kaafir, and thrown into Hell forever.

For the situation you have stated Akhie:

***The person must never have heard about Islam or Prophet Muhammad (salla Allaahu 'alayhi wa sallam)***

    And:

***The person must worship God alone without having a partner***

Then will Allah judge him/her accordingly on The Day of Judgment.

Re: Mother Teresa- Heaven or Hell?

    asalamu alaykum everyone,

my name is linda and i am a revert of 17 months. alhamdu lillah my husband showed me the path to islam and after much research i embraced islam. i have to admit that it breaks my heart to even think that my parents, may god rest their souls in peace, may or may not be admitted into paradise. seeing this thread has made my heart ache so much worse. i dont know if my mother ever heard of islam before she died. but i remember my father saying, at the time of my husband's first ramadan in the united states, that islam was a false religion. this remark made my heart severely sick.
how do i cope with the thought that i may NEVER see my mother in paradise?

    assalamu alaikum sister,

First of all..congratulations and alhamdulillah that you have found the true path. This is a real blessing from Allah. He (the Most High) loves you, and therefore He has guided you.

Sis, i know how your'e feeling, as i have many family members who have passed on, also being non muslim. I had a cousin who i loved and adored whilst growing up...he died a non muslim. The thing is, these are all tests for us. Allah tests the believers with hardships and difficulties to see if we really do believe, and He will also reward us immensely, insha Allah if we are patient.

We will all be tested with loss of wealth, health, lives, and of hunger (etc)...but with every hardship comes ease...

"Allah is with those who are patient"

May Allah take away your pain sis, and make you the reason to guide the rest of your family to Islam, insha Allah...ameen.

Re: Mother Teresa- Heaven or Hell?

    friends

To spend our lives according to the orders of Almighty is necessary to get reward in next life.

As the matter of "to be a Muslim", every one spending or has spent his life on the right path given by Almighty is Muslim, whatever religion one has, because "Path" is same for every one.

So set thy face to the
Religion, all-devoted: __ God's original law on which he
    originated mankind; there can be no change in God's creation;
that is the standing Religion __ but most men do not
    know __(30/30)

Before this discussion go ahead we should examine what is the place of the person that belongs to "ahly Kitaab" and spending or has spent his life according to the laws given by Almighty in their devine books. He/she also accept Muhammad (saw) is the messenger of Allah (Rab ul Izzat) & Quran is also a divine book, like we accept Musa (as) & Eisa (as) are the messenger of Almighty.

Sister don't forget that even the Prophets AS were tested with thier families. Prophet NUh AS's wife and son never acceted islam, even though he preached to them for hundreds of years, imagine how he felt. Similarly with Prophet Ibrahim AS and his father didn't accept islam. Allah SWT tests us all in different ways

“Lo! Those who believe, and those who are Jews, and Christians, and Sabaeans whoever believth in Allah and the last day and doeth right surely their reward is with their Lord, and there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve” Al-Baqarah, 62

    Dear Linda;
First of all, I want to express my sincere happiness to know that you have been a member of Islam.

Just as noone can tell what will our destiny be in hereafter, nobody can ensure you whether your parents (or the others of 'people of Scripture' i.e. Christians, Jews, Sabaeans.... ) will go to paradise or hell. One who says so will transgress his limits, since it is unknown by people and only will Allah decide. Nobody, none of us ever can.
Therefore, please try to keep your heart in peace. They will be judged in hereafter, by the best of judges.

    Kind Regards

    brother,

People Who Have Never Heard the Message Will be Tested in the Hereafter

    By Sheikh Salman al-Oadah

Ibn al-Qayyim discussed the topic of those who did not hear the message in his books Tariq al-Hijratayn and Ahkam ahl al-dhimah (619/2-656) although he was talking about the children of the unbelievers.

He came with ten sayings in this topic. The last one was that they will be tested in the Hereafter. Allah will send them a messenger in the Hereafter. Whoever obeys the Messenger will enter Paradise and whoever disobeys him will go to Hell. Therefore, some of the people who did not receive the call to Islam will go to Paradise and some to Hell.

This is the saying adopted by the people of Sunnah. The hadith related by al-Ash`ar in his book al-Ibnah, was also mentioned by Ibn Farak and Abu al-Qasim b. `Askir in Tasnf. It is also narrated by Muhammad b. Nasr al-Mirwaz on his reply to Ibn Qutaybah and mentioned his evidences.

Ibn al-Qayyim mentioned these evidences and supports them. Then he said: We cannot rule whether such people are believers or unbeliever because disbelieving means denying something while in their case, they did not know about the message from the first instance. As they were neither believers nor unbeliever they should have a different rule on the Day of Judgment. If we say that they are disbelievers, then we would say that the condition for them to be punished in the Hereafter does not apply. They have to be warned about that. Allah will not punish them without a previous warning. This should be in the language he understands.

    ****************************************

Many scholars, including Ibn al-Qayyim, Ibn Kathir and Ibn Baz, have adapted the saying that the people who have never had an opportunity to come to know about Islam will be tested in the Day of Judgment.

Allah says: Nor would We punish until We had sent a messenger (to give warning).[Surah al-Isra: 15]

Those who pass the test and obey the commands will go to Paradise and those who are disobedient will go to Hell.

    Salaam

Any one who dies without in a state of kufur will go to hell, any one who can honestly say he didn't hear the message will have a special test on the day of judgement.
