Also I know someone will ask the question if hes married why does he say that he is single, the answer is below
Yes the guy does have a wife, he was forced/coerced to marry a relative but from his thinking shes not his wife in the true sense because he had very little choice in the matter. His family wanted him to marry back home and bring her over to please the extended families and to have an unpaid slave as well as grand children. The fact hes not fulfilling his responsibilities as a husband means little to his parents.
I hope that makes things clear inshAllah. Maybe someone knows of actual cases where the issues mentioned in the poem actually apply and can enlighten us more.
^ so i guess the marriage did not bring any postive change into his life, just kinda made it worse. Well i have seen that happening, in an extended family parents think once they are married they wont be able to think of divorce as that will ruin the family reputation. When that is out of the question because of so much pressure, the boy and the girl will just compromise with each other for the sake of elders decision and their hapiness. Most of the time this compromise follows consequences such as having a secret wife or mistress. cuz marraige is not gluing two ppl together like pieces of paper and expect them to stay that way.
I think if u have been forced into marriage to somone you don't like or didn't want to get married to, life will be so much easier if you just accept the decision. It's not like accepting defeat cuz the only person you'e fighting against is yourself. The time spent in regretting and being deppy over once life and marraige, just spend that time working on the relationship, who knows maybe the r'ship will flourish like never before.
