Where do I start to learn about Islam? I don't have much money so I can't buy books or a magazine with a good article. I'm sorry, but my family always comes before myself and will never put them second. As I wrote in my introduction, I am a Christian and I want to learn as much as I can about all the different beliefs, faiths and religions. I'm not your typical Christian and you might not believe this but I am a Baptist as well, lol.
WOW! I'm rambling on and I apologize for that.
Back on topic, what is the best and worse websites to go to for someone who is still a baby in the faith? The reason I want the worse is so that I can avoid them.
Thank you for all replies and any help you give
Chris C.
It's great to know you are trying to learn more about Islam. There are many good websites and even some forum threads that may help you to learn the basics. In addition, many books are available online which should also come in very useful. I've listed some below, and more can be added later, God-willing. Please do let us know how the reading goes.
About the bad ones, we don't want to promote them by linking to them. But simply put, any website which doesn't mention that God send peace and blessings upon Prophet Muhammad, then you know its a non muslim and probably anti islamic site.
I downloaded a copy of the Quran onto my iPad and am starting at the beginning.
I'm wondering if there may be an app for my iPad that reads for you while you read along. I have found I can comprehend much better while reading along when someone else is reading out loud.
There is so many free materials, ad also youtube lectures. I love Abdur-Rheem green’s lectures, he has done a series called the proof Islam is the truth, about 15 different proofs. I found them very useful even for Muslims. He is former Christian, and he searched for the truth, he even practised Buddhism for few years before he read the Quran.
