    Re: paradise

    Description of PARADISE...

    Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem

    Description of Paradise
    by Imaam Ibn al-Qayyim, Rahimahullaah

Ibn al-Qayyim said, in regards to the description of the Paradise and
    the delights that it contains:

"And if you ask about its ground and its soil, then it is of musk and saffron.

And if you ask about its roof, then it is the Throne of the Most Merciful.

And if you ask about its rocks, then they are pearls and jewels.

And if you ask about its buildings, then they are made of bricks of
    gold and silver.

And if you ask about its trees, then it does not contain a single tree
except that its trunk is made of gold and silver.

And if you ask about its fruits, then they are softer than butter and
    sweeter than honey.

And if you ask about its leaves, then they are softer than the softest cloth.

And if you ask about its rivers, then there are rivers of milk who's
taste does not change, and rivers of wine that is delicious to those
who drink it, and rivers of honey that is pure, and rivers of water
    that is fresh.

And if you ask about their food, then it is fruits from whatever they
will choose, and the meat of whatever birds they desire.

And if you ask about their drink, then it is Tasneem, ginger, and Kaafoor.

And if you ask about their drinking cups, then they are crystal-clear
and made of gold and silver.

And if you ask about its shade, then a fast rider would ride in the
shade of one of its trees for a hundred years and not escape it.

And if you ask about its vastness, then the lowest of its people would
have within his kingdom and walls and palaces and gardens the distance
that would be travelled in a thousand years.

And if you ask about its tents and encampments, then one tent is like
a concealed pearl that is sixty miles long.

And if you ask about its towers, then they are rooms above rooms in
buildings that have rivers running underneath them.

And if you ask about how far it reaches into the sky, then look at the
shining star that is visible, as well as those that are far in the
heavens that the eyesight cannot possibly reach.

And if you ask about the clothing of its inhabitants, then they are of
    silk and gold.

And if you ask about its beds, then its blankets are of the finest
silk laid out in the highest of its levels.

And if you ask about the faces of its inhabitants and their beauty,
then they are like the image of the Moon.

And if you ask about their age, then they are young ones of 33 years
in the image of Adam, the father of humanity.

And if you ask about what they will be hearing, then it is the singing
of their wives from among the Hoor al-'Ayn, and better than that are
the voices of the Angels and the Prophets, and better than that is the
Speech of the Lord of the Worlds.

And if you ask about their servants, then they are young boys of
everlasting youth who resemble scattered pearls.

And if you ask about their brides and wives, then they are young and
full-breasted and have had the liquid of youth flow through their
limbs; the Sun runs along the beauty of her face if she shows it,
light shines from between her teeth if she smiles; if you meet her
    love, then say whatever you want regarding the joining of two lights;
he sees his face in the roundness of her cheek as if he is looking
into a polished mirror, and he sees the brightness from behind her
muscles and bones; if she were to be unleashed upon the World, she
would fill what is between the Heavens and the Earth with a beautiful
wind, and the mouths of the creation would glorifiy, praise, and
exclaim greatness, and everything between the East and the West would
be adorned for her, and every eye would be shut from everthing but
her, and the light of the Sun would be outshone just as the light of
the Sun outshines the light of the stars, and everyone on the face of
the Earth would believe in the Ever-Living, the One who Sustains and
    Protects all the exists.

And the covering on her head is better than the World and all that is
in it, and she does not increase with age except in beauty; free from
an umbilical cord, childbirth and menses, and pure of mucous, saliva,
urine and other filthy things; her youth never fades, her clothing is
never worn out, no garment can be created that matches her beauty, and
no one who is with her can ever become bored; her attention is
restricted to her husband, so she desires none but him, just as his
attention is restricted to her so she is the sole object of his
desire, and he is with her in utmost safety and security, as none has
touched her before of either humans or Jinn.

And if you ask about the Day of Increase (in reward) and the visit of
the all-Mighty, all-Wise, and the sight of His Face - free from any
resemblance or likeness to anything - as you see the Sun in the middle
of the day and the full Moon on a cloudless night, then listen on the
day that the caller will call: 'O People of Paradise! Your Lord -
Blessed and Exalted - requests you to visit Him, so come to visit
Him!' So they will say: 'We hear and obey!'

Until, when they finally reach the wide valley where they will all
meet - and none of them will turn down the request of the caller - the
Lord - Blessed and Exalted - will order His Chair to be brought there.
Then, pulpits of light will emerge, as well as pulpits of pearls,
gemstone, gold, and silver. The lowest of them in rank will sit on
sheets of musk, and will not see what those who are on the chairs
above them are given. When they are comfortable where they are sitting
and are secure in their places, and the caller calls: 'O People of
Paradise! You have an appointment with Allaah in which He wishes to
reward you!' So they will say: 'And what is that reward? Has He not
already made our faces bright, made our scales heavy, entered us into
Paradise, and pushed us away from the Fire?'

And when they are like that, all of a sudden a light shines that
encompasses all of Paradise. So, they raise their heads, and, behold:
the Compeller - Exalted is He, and Holy are His Names - has come to
them from above them and majestified them and said: 'O People of
Paradise! Peace be upon you!' So, this greeting will not be responded
to with anything better than: 'O Allaah! You are Peace, and from You
is Peace! Blessed are You, O possessor of Majesty and Honor!' So the
Lord - Blessed and Exalted - will laugh to them and say: 'O People of
Paradise! Where are those who used to obey Me without having ever seen
Me? This is the Day of Increase!'

So, they will all give the same response: 'We are pleased, so be
pleased with us!' So, He will say: 'O People of Paradise! If I were
not pleased with you, I would not have made you inhabitants of My
Paradise! So, ask of Me!' So, they will all give the same response:
'Show us your Face so that we may look at it!' So, the Lord - Mighty
and Majestic - will remove his covering and will majestify them and
will cover them with His Light, which, if Allaah - the Exalted - had
not Willed not to burn them, would have burned them.

And there will not remain a single person in this gathering except
that his Lord - the Exalted - will speak to him and say: 'Do you
remember the day that you did this and that?' and He will remind him
of some of his bad deeds in the Worldy life, so he will say: 'O Lord!
Will you not forgive me?' So, He will say: 'Of course! You have not
reached this position of yours (in Paradise) except by my
    forgiveness.'

So, how sweet is this speech to the ears, and how cooled are the
righteous eyes by the glance at His Noble Face in the Afterlife...

{Some faces that Day will be shining and radiant, looking at their Lord...} (al-Qiyaamah:22-3)

    Re: paradise

    Hi ultimatetruth.

A person in paradise can have whatever they desire. This is because of Allaah's Mercy, because the person strived hard in this world to gain the pleasure of Allaah.

This meant that the person may have had the option of commiting adultery in this world, but he chose not to do it in this world because it is going against the commands of Allaah and His messenger. So out of Allaah's Mercy - He will allow them to have something better in the hereafter insha'Allaah.

This is called positive reinforcement in psychology, and anyone knows that if you command someone to do something, the person naturally wants something in return which they will like, and Allaah is the One who created mankind so he knows how they are like - so Allaah rewards the believers with whatever they desire in the paradise of the hereafter.

These spouses in paradise will be married to them, so it won't be illegal or anything, the same way fornication is forbidden in this world, but intimate relations within marriage in this life is permitted and even rewarded for if the person has a good intention.

    Allaah Almighty knows best.

    Peace.

    Re: paradise

Actually, someone corect me, but one of the greatest, if not the Greatest blessing, and something I hope to have is, the blessing of looking upon the face of my Lord.

And the people in the highest places will be given this twice a day! That is the bestest blessing ever man!

From a post in the Refutation, a Brother states what the Qu'ran says:

39:33-35. And he who brings the Truth and he who confirms (and supports) it - such are the men who do right. They shall have all that they wish for, in the presence of their Lord: such is the reward of those who do good: So that Allah will turn off from them (even) the worst in their deeds and give them their reward according to the best of what they have done.

47:15. (Here is) a Parable of the Garden which the righteous are promised: in it are rivers of water incorruptible; rivers of milk of which the taste never changes; rivers of wine, a joy to those who drink; and rivers of honey pure and clear. In it there are for them all kinds of fruits; and Grace from their Lord. (Can those in such Bliss) be compared to such as shall dwell for ever in the Fire, and be given, to drink, boiling water, so that it cuts up their bowels (to pieces)?

32:17. Now no person knows what delights of the eye are kept hidden (in reserve) for them - as a reward for their (good) deeds.

50:31-35. And the Garden will be brought nigh to the Righteous,- no more a thing distant. (A voice will say) "This is what was promised for you,- for every one who turned (to Allah. in sincere repentance, who kept (His Law), "Who feared ((Allah)) Most Gracious Unseen, and brought a heart turned in devotion (to Him): "Enter ye therein in Peace and Security; this is a Day of Eternal Life!" There will be for them therein all that they wish,- and more besides in Our Presence.

54:54-55. As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Rivers, In an Assembly of Truth, in the Presence of a Sovereign Omnipotent.

39:20. But those who fear Allâh and keep their duty to their Lord (Allâh), for them are built lofty rooms; one above another under which rivers flow (i.e. Paradise). (This is) the Promise of Allâh: and Allâh does not fail in (His) Promise.

51:15-16. As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life.

39:73-75. And those who feared their Lord will be led to the Garden in crowds: until behold, they arrive there; its gates will be opened; and its keepers will say: "Peace be upon you! well have ye done! enter ye here, to dwell therein." They will say: "Praise be to Allah, Who has truly fulfilled His Promise to us, and has given us (this) land in heritage: We can dwell in the Garden as we will: how excellent a reward for those who work (righteousness)!" And thou wilt see the angels surrounding the Throne (Divine) on all sides, singing Glory and Praise to their Lord. The Decision between them (at Judgment) will be in (perfect) justice, and the cry (on all sides) will be, "Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds!"

57:18-19. Verily, those who give in charity, men and women, and lend to Allah a goodly loan, it shall be increased manifold (to their credit), and theirs shall be an honourable good reward (i.e. Paradise). And those who believe in (the Oneness of) Allah and His Messengers, they are the sincere lovers of truth. And the martyrs with their Lord, they shall have their reward and their light. But those who disbelieve and deny Our signs, they shall be the dwellers of the blazing Fire.

69:19-24. Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" And he will be in a life of Bliss, In a Garden on high, The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near. "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!"

33:35. For Muslim men and women,- for believing men and women, for devout men and women, for true men and women, for men and women who are patient and constant, for men and women who humble themselves, for men and women who give in Charity, for men and women who fast (and deny themselves), for men and women who guard their chastity, and for men and women who engage much in Allah.s praise,- for them has Allah prepared forgiveness and great reward.

29:58-59.But those who believe and work deeds of righteousness - to them shall We give a Home in Heaven,- lofty mansions beneath which flow rivers,- to dwell therein for aye;- an excellent reward for those who do (good)!- Those who persevere in patience, and put their trust, in their Lord and Cherisher.

85:11. For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires),

45:30. Then, as to those who believed and did righteous deeds, their Lord will admit them to His Mercy that will be the achievement for all to see.

36:55-58. Verily the Companions of the Garden shall that Day have joy in all that they do; They and their associates will be in groves of (cool) shade, reclining on Thrones (of dignity); (Every) fruit (enjoyment) will be there for them; they shall have whatever they call for; "Peace!" - a word (of salutation) from a Lord Most Merciful!

18:30-31. Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - indeed, We will not allow to be lost the reward of any who did well in deeds. Those will have gardens of perpetual residence; beneath them rivers will flow. They will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold and will wear green garments of fine silk and brocade, reclining therein on adorned couches. Excellent is the reward, and good is the resting place.

29:7-9. Those who believe and work righteous deeds,- from them shall We blot out all evil (that may be) in them, and We shall reward them according to the best of their deeds. We have enjoined on man kindness to parents: but if they (either of them) strive (to force) thee to join with Me (in worship) anything of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not. Ye have (all) to return to me, and I will tell you (the truth) of all that ye did. And those who believe and work righteous deeds,- them shall We admit to the company of the Righteous.

88:8-16. (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, Pleased with their striving,- In a Garden on high,Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: Therein will be a bubbling spring: Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, Goblets placed (ready), And cushions set in rows, And rich carpets (all) spread out.

44:51-57. As to the Righteous (they will be) in a position of Security, Among Gardens and Springs; Dressed in fine silk and in rich brocade, they will face each other; So; and We shall join them to Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes. There can they call for every kind of fruit in peace and security; Nor will they there taste Death, except the first death; and He will preserve them from the Penalty of the Blazing Fire, - As a Bounty from thy Lord! that will be the supreme achievement!

77:41-44 As to the Righteous, they shall be amidst (cool) shades and springs (of water). And (they shall have) fruits,- all they desire. "Eat ye and drink ye to your heart's content: for that ye worked (Righteousness). Thus do We certainly reward the Doers of Good.

66:8. O ye who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere repentance: In the hope that your Lord will remove from you your ills and admit you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow,- the Day that Allah will not permit to be humiliated the Prophet and those who believe with him. Their Light will run forward before them and by their right hands, while they say, "Our Lord! Perfect our Light for us, and grant us Forgiveness: for Thou hast power over all things.

33:47. Then give the Glad Tidings to the Believers, that they shall have from Allah a very great Bounty.

98:7-8. Those who have faith and do righteous deeds,- they are the best of creatures. Their reward is with Allah. Gardens of Eternity, beneath which rivers flow; they will dwell therein for ever; Allah well pleased with them, and they with Him: all this for such as fear their Lord and Cherisher.

35:33-35. Gardens of Eternity will they enter: therein will they be adorned with bracelets of gold and pearls; and their garments there will be of silk. And they will say: "Praise be to Allah, Who has removed from us (all) sorrow: for our Lord is indeed Oft-Forgiving Ready to appreciate (service): "Who has, out of His Bounty, settled us in a Home that will last: no toil nor sense of weariness shall touch us therein."

19:60-63. Except those who repent, believe and do righteousness; for those will enter Paradise and will not be wronged at all. [Therein are] gardens of perpetual residence which the Most Merciful has promised His servants in the unseen. Indeed, His promise has ever been coming. They will not hear therein any ill speech - only [greetings of] peace - and they will have their provision therein, morning and afternoon. That is Paradise, which We give as inheritance to those of Our servants who were fearing of Allah.

48:5. That He may admit the men and women who believe, to Gardens beneath which rivers flow, to dwell therein for aye, and remove their ills from them;- and that is, in the sight of Allah, the highest achievement (for man)

101:6-7. Then, he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) heavy, Will be in a life of good pleasure and satisfaction.

25:10. Blessed is He who, if that were His will, could give thee better (things) than those,- Gardens beneath which rivers flow; and He could give thee palaces (secure to dwell in).

31:8-9.For those who believe and work righteous deeds, there will be Gardens of Bliss,- To dwell therein. The promise of Allah is true: and He is Exalted in Power, Wise.

83:22-28. Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: On Thrones (of Dignity) will they command a sight (of all things): Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed: The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: A spring, from (the waters) whereof drink those Nearest to Allah.
This is what the Qu'ran puts forward, and other Sources, i.e. hadeeth have other details but one thing is predominant, the fact that. we will be in His Presence, given His Mercy and so forth.

    paradise

The path is long but I hope we meet,
After the grave and the Day, in paradise in bliss upon a reclined seat.

A traveler traveling - travelled from shirk to tawheed,
If I'm remembered for anything - let it be the Mercy I seek.

Subhanallah, at that excerpt from Ibn Al-Qaiyyim's (Rahmatullahi Wa Ilayh) book, it's great that the matter of the "lustful" paradise has been addressed on this forum...nice job

    Re: paradise

im sorry once again as i feel im going to start of sikhism. maybe this can be moved to comparative religion?

you see, this is what i dont understand. becuz i was told that you get many virgins and stuff. this all seems lyk physical wants. when someone realises the lord, all this stuff is useless!! you see that the only thing you want is to sing Gods praises! and be in anand (spiritual bliss)! in sikhi, lust is an evil we must conqure, as well as attatchment to worldly stuff. when conqured you see that the things in the world are lyk material. a dream world. but theres answers to truth, e.g. sach khand!- the true relm, its so deep that the Gurus say it cannot be comprahended by the mind.

    Hey.

This world isn't the real life, and the hereafter is more rewarding and longer lasting. Allaah knows that man desires wealth, spouses etc. man also desires ease, and joy and similarly naturally dislikes harm, fear etc.

So instead of just showing man fear of hell and its punishments, Allaah also shows the beauties of paradise and man realises that if he/she wants to get something better, if he/she gives up something for the sake of Allaah in this world, - then they will be recompensed with something better in the hereafter.

The greatest blessing in paradise will be to see Allaah there, and the other blessings will be to have all that we desire. Because if Allaah can provide things for us in this world, why can't He give the people greater blessings in that paradise which He has also created? There are also ahadith which have been narrated, where the people will breathe and through their breathing they will be continously praising Allaah.

Jabir reported: I heard Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) as saying that the inmates of Paradise would eat and drink but would neither spit, nor pass water, nor void excrement, nor suffer catarrah. It was said: Then, what would happen with food? Thereupon he said: They would belch and sweat (and it would be over with their food), and their sweat would be that of musk and they would glorify and praise Allah as easily as you breathe.
Sahih Muslim Book 040, Number 6798

Paradise, Its Description, Its Bounties and Its Intimates
    http://www.ummah.net/Al_adaab/hadith/muslim/had40.html

We know that Allaah has permitted things for us in this world and also has commanded us to abstain from others such as intoxicants etc. The reasons for this is out of His eternal wisdom, and He prohibits us from certain things because they are bad and harmful for us.

This world is only a trial, and if we obey Allaah and abstain from these for Allaah's sake sincerely, we will be blessed and rewarded with what is better in the hereafter insha'Allaah (God willing.)

Allah will admit those who believe and work righteous deeds, to Gardens beneath which rivers flow: they shall be adorned therein with bracelets of gold and pearls; and their garments there will be of silk.

    [Qur'an Surah Hajj (22):23]

We don't have to turn our backs to this world totally, instead we have to obey Allaah and submit to Him. This shows our love and dedication, and if we are sincere - Allaah will make us succesful in this world and the hereafter.

    Allaah Almighty knows best.

    Peace.

    Re: paradise

    Peace,

do not compare worldly desires and feelings to those of the hereafter. Nothing is comparable of this world to that of the next. The impure feelings of this world will inshaAllah be turned into beautiful pure feelings in the next. We are given an incentive like any other slave to work harder, but the one who does it solely for his lord is obviously best.

Solution: There is nothing impure about the rewards of the hereafter, and the muslims are taught to be completely pure in this world. We are the most clean by statistic, and study other religions, no other religion asks to wash five times a day, brush teeth five times a day, etc etc ! Our hearts we purify regularly ! inshaAllah

There will be physical and spiritual, if you take time to read the thread I gave you you will see that the Qu'ran focuses on the spiritual and the great blessing of being with God and having His Mercy. But I doubt you'll do that.

Well not really, because even in this world, Muslims worship hard and leave many things in sacrafise, why? To be with God, so yes Muslims understand and practice that God is the most important things and we sacrafise all to be with him, even our life. But do we say other stuff is useless no.

That's your view but rather in Islam we are told that marriage is a blessing, it is something beautiful, it is on here and better in Paradise, is it the only reason for Muslims to go to paradise so they can marry? No, because as I have said the greatest will be the fact that we will see our Lord and be With Him. But an additional blessing and gift is marriage, it eating and having what ever we want. It is both a Physical and Spiritual Blessing.

The path is long but I hope we meet,
After the grave and the Day, in paradise in bliss upon a reclined seat.

A traveler traveling - travelled from shirk to tawheed,
If I'm remembered for anything - let it be the Mercy I seek.

    Re: paradise

The reality of Paradise is something which people will never be able to understand until they actually enter it, but God has shown us glimpses of it in the Quran. He has described it as a place essentially different to the life of this world.

    Re: paradise

    Jannah is certainly worth it

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Allah said: I have prepared for My righteous servants what no eye has seen and no ear has heard, not has it occurred to human heart. Thus recite if you wish : As-Sajda 17: And no soul knows what is kept hidden for them as reward of what they used to do (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith Qudsi)
    paradise

Jabir bin 'Abdullah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said:'A slave (of Allah) shall not believe until he believes in Al-Qadar, its good and its bad, such that he knows that what struck him would not have missed him, and that what missed him would not have struck him." (Jami 'at Tirmidhi)
