I'm starting university this year September inshallah but I'm so scared!! I've been in my current school for 7 years including sixth form (I live in the U.K.) I feel like university is going to be such a big jump I'm not too concerned about making friends but it's just the new environment that I'm afraid of and if the course I picked (biomedical science) is going to be too hard for me. I know I'm probably being quite irrational but I genuinely need some piece of advice.

Regarding the field of study you picked, if you have any interest in science and/or healthcare (I'll assume you do, or else you'd have probably picked something else), you'll be fine if you put in the effort. It isn't necessarily an easy field, but entirely doable if you put the work in. Take notes, study, in put the information in as many ways as you can (listen to the lecture and write notes, read the readings and power points, rewrite the info in your own words, watch Youtube videos on the subjects, etc... the more methods of input you get, the more likely the information will stick), and while cramming can sometimes help, try to study regularly instead of just the last minute. A problem I had for certain subjects is learning for the test vs fully learning the material. Be sure to try and actually learn the info, and not just save it for the test and forget it.
You should also figure out your priorities if you haven't; school or social life, because there will be times where one may suffer for the sake of the other. So know what matters to you.
And I don't know the UK education system set up, so I'm not sure how close or far from uni you are based on your post, but still, no matter how much time you have, look ahead to what courses and material you'll be covering at uni and start reading up on it now.
And of course, ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala for easy going in your courses, and for easy learning of the material. Just be sure to still put in the effort.
Ultimately, you'll be fine if you take it seriously and give it the time the material will likely demand.

The utmost tip I can give you is: DON'T DELAY LEARNING! The second utmost tip I can give is: DON'T DELAY LEARNING! Start from day 0 at Uni and learn the stuff. DON'T DELAY LEARNING until 4 weeks before the exam! Honestly DON'T DELAY LEARNING maybe a learning plan might help but prepare for your lectures and read the relevant chapter in your book and after your lecture write a summary. Start from day 0 to learn for your exams. When you do that, you just have to revise the weeks before it. That will take off the stress and at the end save time. Better to learn everyday 2 hours instead of 12 hours couple of days before your exam. That is even more efficient. Our brains need brakes to progress what we've learned.
Don't forget: DON'T DELAY LEARNING!

My sister having been to University what I would say to you and anyone else going to University is to be aware that there is much fitnah an fasad (tribulation and corruption) at University, colleges etc but particularly if you are living out which will mean you are going to be exposed to it all the time. Therefore it is more important than ever to safeguard your imaan (faith) especially if you are planning to live out. Get in touch with Your Universities Islamic society and even be careful with them as many of the so called ISOCS are negligent about intermingling and free mixing especially amongst volunteers in their projects and events etc.
So be very careful and ensure you try and find good practicing sisters particularly those who do not mix with guys. Stay away from those sisters who freely mix with men as eventually one will be influenced with the company one keeps. It is better to remain alone than to keep harmful company.
Also be very careful within classes especially if you have been put into the position of having to do a project with the opposite sex which you can object to on religious grounds as many have fallen victim to having relations in such situations. If you are compelled to work with the opposite sex then you are not obliged to give your number out nor work closely with the opposite sex.
These things may sound pedantic and minor to some but it can save one from alot of sin, heartache and possible scarring. There will be many wolves and predators out there and shaythan will come at you from all angles so it is more important than ever to maintain all of your prayers on time, pray Tahajjud before Fajr begins with an intense Dua each night and the pray Fajr, Remain connected to the Qur'an, join any sisters circles and groups in the local Masjids and ISOC and being aware that many sisters even within ISOC will freely mix with the opposite gender so be aware of this and on your guard. Try to partake in dawah activity with sisters as there are many sisters who require dawah at University and many non Muslim women who are willing to learn about Islam and also partake in positive events etc and enrol onto Islamic short courses.
Apart from that it is recommended to keep a daily schedule so you can plan your day and evening effectively especially if you have to priorities many things in your day. But remember sister, Plan your day around prayers not plan your prayers around your day. There is nothing more important than praying on time regardless of what you are doing at University or outside of University.
We must realise that the youth is the best time of ones life to practice Islam, obey and please Allah and reject evil as one will be questioned about ones youth and the deeds of the youth are greater than at any other time in ones life due to the excessive exposure to evil and naivety of the age. So if we do not make the best of our youth then if we make it to older age we will always regret wasting our youth on our desires and on haraam relations etc.
May Allah protect us against fitnah and evil and help us to safeguard our imaan especially when we are exposed to fitnah. Ameen
