    Re: Islamic Poems (OP)

As requested, this is a thread where we can discuss various books and recommend books as well. For a more detailed discussion on a certain book, we recommend making a seperate thread in the Education Issues section of this forum.

    Re: Recommend a Book!

I recently finished The Kite Runner by Khalid Hosseini after having read his 'A Thousand Splendid Suns'. Absolutely painful to read and I cried buckets.

Currently reading 'Abolition - The Struggle to Abolish Slavery in the British Colonies' by Richard S. Reddie. Very distressing in some parts but also a real eye-opener as to how British merchants made a fortune through the slave trade. It might come as a surprise to some to know that Barclay's bank was set up by the Barclay brothers who made millions from the slave trade. Makes you sick

    Re: Recommend a Book!

Guidance Media are honoured to release, in the blessed month of Rabi' al-Awwal, a new translation of the Burda Sharif, the Mudariyya and Muhammadiyya by Iman Busiri. Also, for the first time, the Arabic text is accompanied by a transliteration for those unable to read the Arabic script fluently, along with a moving translation.

    Pre-order your copy from HUbooks.

    Translated by Aziza Spiker.

Imam al-Busiri's poems in praise of the Prophet Muhammad have been sung in gatherings throughout the Muslim world for hundreds of years, and have been translated into many languages.
The most famous of these poems, the Burda, or 'The Poem of the Cloak', is included here in an English translation, together with the Mudariyya and the Muhammadiyya.

The benefits of reciting these poems are well known. To facilitate their recitation and understanding, the translation is presented here with a transliteration and the original Arabic text.

Awaken the Giant Within - Tony Robbins :::: the best self improvement book that teach you to kill limiting belief and reach your better self.

What Every Christians and Jews Should Know - Benjamin Kheldani ::: a detailed book revealing Prophet Muhammad in canonical old testaments.

Zero Limits - Joe Vitale ::: odd thing, this book actually explains the truth of tawakkal concept in a nonmuslim view without being one-sided to certain religion.

I read this book a few years ago and still keep flipping through the pages randomly when I feel an urgent need to reconnect,
It is quite concise but very to the point:

    Re: Recommend a Book!

here are three very concise biographies i found on Abdullah ibn al Mubarak, Ibn Taymiyyah, and Salahuddin.

i've so far read the one on ibn taymiyyah (ra) and have found it to be deeply enlightening,
the grammar and spelling aren't 100% but the article is easy to understand.
formats available are epub, pdf, plain text, kindle plus more,
