The book of Allah is unique and unparalleled. It is the word of Allah and is unchallengeable. However, despite its distinguished nature, we now see attempts being made to reform the Book of Allah. Calls for changing,
reviewing and repelling the laws and the teachings of the Qur’an are openly being proposed.

Some have gone to the extreme of levelling accusations against the Quran referring to it as a male orientated, gender biased and inherently flawed book as it supposedly assigns a lower and inferior position to women.

These false allegations and attempts to weaken the faith of Muslims, in particular Muslim women is a matter of concern and needs to be understood with clarity. The Quran is the foundation of Islam and thus attempts to disparage the Quran are in actual fact attempts to denigrate and dismantle Islam.

Contrary to these outrageous allegations, the teachings of the Quran provide a unique and distinguished position to a woman different to any other faith. However, along with enjoying many privileges a Muslimah has many responsibilities towards the Qur’an.
