    Assalamu alaikum,

In such cases it is his duty to guide and help her to come back to the obedience of Allah swt.

    Asalaamualaykum

He needs to guide her with love and kindness.

A very important part here is to understand that should that disobedience also be valid to him - its imperative that he is setting an example of it too.
Example: The wife is not reciting Quran - That applies to both genders so if he is not reciting Quran but yet expects her too, then there is a double problem at hand.

I understand and believe in encouraging a spouse to read Quran more, adopt more religious habits...etc. but...each person is their own person who God will judge individually, along with what was in their heart/their intention...someone forcing them to do something does not do anything but create false actions.

I do not know what you mean by "disobedient"...women are not dogs.

The word "disobey" doesn't only apply to animals. You are taking a partial view on a very broad word.

If you were to insinuate that the word disobey infers to an animal like subject - then Many hadith and the Quran itself would be put to question.

For further explanation please contact your local Aalim.
