Immense Rewards for Reciting the Qur'an in Ramadan

Quran has even more of an important significance in the month of Ramadan, the month of fasting.

Allah says: The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Quran, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong) [Quran al-Baqarah 2:185]
Jibreel used to come to the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) every night in Ramadaan, and study the Quran with him.
    (Al-Bukhaari, 5; Muslim, 4268)

10 rewards for each letter of the Qur'an outside Ramadan:

Outside of Ramadan there are 10 rewards for reciting each letter of the Qur’an:

Rasulallah (Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam) says: ”Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah will receive a hasanah (good deed) from it (i.e. his recitation), and the hasanah is multiplied by ten. I do not say that Alif-Laam-Meem is (considered as) a letter, rather Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter, and Meem is a letter.” [At-Tirmidhi, Ad-Darimi]

Good deeds multiplied by 70 in Ramadan

But in Ramadan ALL good deeds are multiplied by 70 or more:

The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Whoever draws near to Allah during it (Ramadan) with a single characteristic from the characteristics of (voluntary) goodness, he is like whoever performs an obligatory act in other times. And whoever performs an obligatory act during it, he is like whoever performed seventy obligatory acts in other times.” (Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah, no. 1887)

Each letter of Qur'an rewarded 700 good deeds or more

So for each letter of the Qur’an we recite we will gain a minimum of 700 good deeds or more. The greater our intentions and the more sincere we are then our rewards will be multiplied even more!

Those who struggle to read get DOUBLE THE REWARD!

But for those who struggle with reciting the Qur'an they will receive double the reward of a minimum of 1400 good deeds for each letter:

Aa’ishah (RA), relates that the Prophet (SallAllahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said: Verily the one who recites the Qur’an beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. And as for the one who recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses, then he will have TWICE that reward.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
This hadith proves that people who are not well versed in the Arabic language or have other difficulties in reciting the Quran, get even a higher reward for reciting the Quran in Arabic for their extra effort. So they should never feel down about not being able to recite as well for they will be given double the reward.

    No time to waste!

Can you imagine how much reward we would gain for reciting the entire Qur’an just once? How about twice or more? Subhaanallah!

So let us recite as much of the Qur'an as we can during Ramadan and the rest of our lives until our last breath.

Let us get going and grab these immense rewards and the pleasure of Allah. For there is no time to waste!

Re: Immense Rewards for Reciting the Qur'an in Ramadan

Reciting the Qur'an in abundance during the blessed month of Ramadan:

Ramadan is the month of the Qur'an so we should do our utmost to recite the Qur'an as much as possible for the reward of every good act is multiplied by 70 during Ramadan. So if there are ten rewards for reciting one letter of the Qur'an outside of Ramadan then if we multiply ten by 70 then that makes upto 700 rewards for reciting just one letter of the Qur'an. Subhaanallah.

Those who struggle reciting the Qur'an get double the reward:

So those who struggle to recite the Qur'an get upto 1400 good deeds for reciting each letter. The bigger and better our intentions then the more Allah will reward us for every good act. So these rewards are just minimum.

Set targets: Therefore we should set a realistic target for ourselves of how much of the Qur'an we will recite depending on what we have to do in our day. If we are free then alhamdulillah we should aim for a minimum of 3 Qur'an in this month or more. If we are working and busy then one Qur'an is possible.

It is best to break down what you will recite in manageable chunks. For example read half a juz before Dhuhr, Half after, half before Asr, Half after, A half before Maghrib and then half before sleep etc. In this way we can recite the Qur'an a little bit at a time and that way not feel fatigued, restless and avoid getting bored. We should also take regular breaks and even do Dhikr in between or just rest for a while.

So set yourself daily targets of how much Qur'an you will recite and devote much of your worship on reciting the Qur'an as it is the month of the Qur'an.

Re: Immense Rewards for Reciting the Qur'an in Ramadan

Tips for reciting more Qur'an during Ramadan:

Splitting up what you recite of the Qur'an

Rather than read 50 pages in one go try splitting it up. So read 5 pages before Fajr and 5 pages after. 5 Pages before Dhuhr and 5 pages after. Then for Asr the most precious time for worship is between Asr and Maghrib so you can read half a juz (chapter) or even one juz. Then recite 5 pages before sleep.

In this way you have broken down all of your recitation into manageable chunks so you don't feel fatigued or overwhelmed.

    How to stay motivated

A good way of motivating yourself is to think to yourself that outside of Ramadan we get 10 rewards for reciting each letter of the Qur'an. But in Ramadan all deeds are multiplied by 10 so you get a minimum of 100 rewards for each letter you recite. Subhaanallah. That is immense rewards! So everytime you get lazy or feel demotivated just imagine missing out on 100 rewards for each letter and think to yourself that this offer is only available ONCE a year for just 30 days.

These rewards we will desperately need on the day of judgement as we will BEG others for just ONE good deed but no one will give it to us because they will also be in desperate need. So can we afford to miss out on 100 rewards for just one letter? Thats hundreds of thousands of rewards each day if we read a reasonable amount of Qur'an. Subhaanallah. So keep these rewards in your mind and whilst your reading imagine getting 100 rewards for each letter. That is just minimum Allah can reward MUCH more.

    Take regular breaks

Throughout the day you will be taking a lot of breaks so as to not overwhelm yourself because it is important to have some "me" time. So you can relax or go for a short walk and clear your head or just relax and do dhikr. Meditation is very good for you and relieves stress. So meditating about the signs of Allah is a wonderful way to relax and at the same time gain immense rewards.

Taking regular breaks will help to avoid burnout . You can read your favourite "halal" book lol. Go for a walk in the park to freshen your head. Call a good friend who havent spoken to for a while (remembering not to partake in idle talk), or just relax with family.

By having regular rests we will be able to re-focus again on the task at hand. Overwhelming ourselves can do more harm than good as it may cause us to suddenly slip and fall and not be able to get back up again. So regular little breaks are very important.

Re: Immense Rewards for Reciting the Qur'an in Ramadan

Each letter of the Qur'an on Laylatul Qadr equals 300,000 Good deeds!

The Night of Power is better than a 1000 months, which is over 83 years. Therefore any act of worship during this night is rewarded to worship equal to over 83 years. Subhanallah!

This applies to prayers, Qur'an recitation, Dhikr (Remembrance of Allah) and giving to charity and so on.

If tonight is Laylatul Qadr then every letter of the Quran recited is worth over 300,000 good deeds (10 rewards each letter × 30,415 days = 304,000 good deeds

Subhanallah! What a great return for such a little amount given.

So let us make the best of this opportunity to gain such immense and unimaginable rewards and do as many good deeds as possible and give to charity for the pleasure of Allah and gain incomprehensible rewards in return for so little!

The generosity of Allah is not measurable it is infinite! Subhanallah! Recite recite recite!

Re: Immense Rewards for Reciting the Qur'an in Ramadan

Recite, Reflect and Implement the Qur'an in our daily lives!

Will they not then ponder over the Quran, or is it that they have locks on their hearts!? [Quran, 47:24]

(This is) a Scripture that We have revealed unto thee, full of blessing, that they may ponder its revelations, and that men of understanding may reflect. [Quran, 38:29]

The Quran is a guide to humanity which also includes all of us. Since none of us want to be misguided therefore it is paramount not only to read or recite the Quran, but to understand and implement it in our lives as well.

Re: Immense Rewards for Reciting the Qur'an in Ramadan

Rewards for each letter of the Qur'an is multiplied in Ramadan!

During Ramadan the reward for reciting each letter of the Qur'an is increased significantly and this reward doubles for those who struggle in their recitation of the Qur'an.

Aa’ishah (Ra) relates that the Prophet (SAW) said: Verily the one who recites the Qur’an beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. And as for the one who recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses, then he will have TWICE that reward.” [Al-Bukhari, Muslim]

Abdullah Ibn ‘Abbas & Anas Ibn Malik (Ra) reported that the Prophet Muhammed (SAW) said: ‘Whoever recites Surah Zilzilah (Q99) would get the reward of reciting half the Qur’an. Whoever recites Surah al Kaafirun (Q109) would get a reward as if reading a quarter of the Qur’an. Whoever recited Surah al Ikhlas (Q112) would get a reward as if reading one third of the Qur’an’.
