As some of you have noticed and pointed out, the spacebar doesn't always work properly when you are quoting a post. This is a known issue in the latest version of Chrome browser. vBulletin does not have any plans to fix this issue and they say Google might fix it in the next browser update.
The workaround for this issue is to use the Standard Editor instead of the WYSIWYG editor. You can change the editor settings in your profile by going to your user control panel -> General Settings, then scroll down to find the settings for Message Editor Interface and select the Standard Editor.
Alternatively, you can also click on this button while replying to posts. It is a short-cut method to switch to the standard editor temporarily.
Another thing that works it to start typing right after the quote. That always works for me. If I try to type under it, that's when the spacebar stops working.
