Was in the middle of preparing special Eid Lunch and I thought I'd take a few minutes to start this thread.
We are having:
Mutton Biriyani and accompaniments: onion raita, green pea curry, "achcharu" (a sri Lankan raw pickle thingy), maldive fish fry and fried chicken.
Sounds like a lot, but the accompaniments are in small portions and it is the tradiional Sri Lankan Muslim festive meal. We have it for eid, weddings and any old party for that matter! Yes, we are big eaters!
“Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious. " (16:125)
Rasulullah said, “Anyone who conceals (the defects of) a Muslim, Allah will conceal them (their defects) in this world and in the Hereafter.”
And as for the onewho fears standing in front of His Lord and restrainsthe soul from impure evil desires and lusts, verily, Paradise will be his abode [79:40-41]
Nothing really much compared to usual.
Just The Malaysian regulars :
Ketupat (rice cakes in coconut leaves)
Lemang (glutinous rice cakes cooked in bamboo pole thingys over an open fire)
Rendang
Peanut sauce
My mother is making some of her famous chicken souse and johnny bread yum yum.
And the rest we'll probably eat over by other peoples houses when we go avisiting
And I made lots of cookies and sweets and all of that stuff...can't go without it

Wow, I didnt know it would be a surprise for some people that we have special eid lunch. Isn't that what festivals are all about? Families getting together and having a banquet?
I took it for granted that it would be like that around the world, since EVERY muslims family in my country have a special biriyani lunch for eid!
I'm sorry if I offended anyone by starting this thread, I just wanted to see how Muslims around the world celebrate Eid.
