Lightbulb Concept of JIHAD in Islam

Some people seems very confused with the word JIHAD. This is a general term and its meaning is: To Strive, which is explained very beautifully by our beloved Prophet of Allah (may Allah exalt his mention) in a very concise way in below Hadith.

    Narrated Abdullah bin Amr,

A man said to the Prophet, “Shall I participate in Jihad (war)?” The Prophet said, “Are your parents alive?” The man said, “Yes.” The Prophet said, “Do Jihad for their benefit.” (that is: your Jihad is to serve your parents)

Assalaam Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,
    Jazakallahu Khair for sharing!

In this age, proclaiming the Word of Allah (Jihad) is contingent on material progress; it may be proclaimed only through achieving true civilization. It cannot be doubted that in the future the world of Islam’s collective personality will carry out to the letter that categorical command issued by the dignity of Islam through belief.

In the past, Islam’s progress occurred through smashing the enemy’s bigotry and obstinacy and through defence against their aggression; through weapons and the sword. Whereas in the future, in place of weapons, the immaterial, moral swords of true civilization, material progress, and truth and justice will defeat and scatter the enemies.

The Moral sword defeated the bigots of the past and its going to defeat the bigots of the present and the future.

Do you think the pious don't sin?

    They merely:
Veiled themselves and didn't flaunt it
    Sought forgiveness and didn't persist
Took ownership of it and don't justify it
And acted with excellence after they had erred - Ibn al-Qayyim
