    Any suggestions?

    Report bad ads?

I have just started my winter break here, and this is the first break in a long time where I do not have any obligations (work, volunteerings etc), as a result I am free for the next few weeks.

Since I have a lot of time I figured why not use this time to acquire more knowledge about the deen or really, just general knowledge. The problem is I don't know where to start. I have noticed that when I am given an essay assignment from school on a predetermined issue or topic I tend to research intensively and gain a lot of knowledge.

So does anyone have any suggestions for something which they them selves are interested in and would like to know more about, for example, comparative religion how Islam and Christianity are similar different. (please don't use this example). But really it could be any topic and if I get a few suggestions I will pick one and write something about it inshallah, it'll be an exercise for me.

The imams of the four schools of fiqh? Biography and how their schools of jurisprudence were developed and became popular? What are the schools of jurisprudence? Is difference of opinion accepted amongst these schools? Give a few examples of where they differ, would need to do research of course

Black magic, what it is, and how to remove the effects of it in halal way?

hmm if I think of anymore I'll let you know.

There is someone who is about to present his final analyses on the meaning of the arabic letters of the qur'aan unlike anything the world has seen before. An entire website is being constructed for this purpose as well. Do you think that
you could study this field and provide a critical study of the findings. I think it would be very important to let the world know after you investigation. I can give you access to all the material inshaa allaah. Think about it.

See, your first few suggestions were boring lol I Don't know I just find those topics are already well researched (as are many others topics) but these ones in particular not to appealing to me. Something more interesting, I like the black magic one, I have looked into it quite a bit already about the forms of black magic, how its practised how jins are related etc. So I will put it in the maybe pile = ) open to more suggestions

who is this "someone" you speak of. Sounds like some top secret study that you are referring to. What material could you possibly "give me access to" that I could not already obtain from the internet and books?

Could you be a bit more descriptive in what your proposing?.. Do we not already know the meaning of the arabic letter? ie. which letters refer to which letter in the alphabet ? could someone not find information on the alphabet from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabic_alphabet ?

Found nowhere else in the world but the qur'aan and hadiyth and few other sources. Even here you need great knowledge to find it's location. If you were told that the information can be given why not just examine it.
It is something that can be given and it is something that can be examined. If you will know it it will give you the programme upon which the entire language is based. It is as easy as that.Just say when.Arabic_alphabet ?

i've been reading and studying the history of Christianity. from my viewpoint, i guess i'm trying to prepare an answer to the issue of how the original Christianity was morphed into the current trinitarianism. is there historic evidence, or more exactly what is the evidence, for the "evolution" of Christianity? we see it even in the Gospels. Mark, the oldest, has NO evidence that the followers of Isa saw him after he "died". Mark is believed to be written 30 to 40 years after his ascension into heaven. [the oldest and "most reliable" manuscripts end in Mark 16:8; 16:8Then they left the grave quickly. They were trembling and afraid. They did not talk to anyone about it because they were afraid. the rest was added at an unknown time] not until 50 years later, ca 80 to 85, do we have written testimony of a sighting of the written Jesus, excluding Paul's contradictory statements. the 11 apostles would have been near 90 years old at this time IF any were still alive. John, which contains the most "direct" statements of Isa's "divinity" wasn't penned until 95 AD. any of the 11 would have been centenarians by then.

we also have evidence that Christians murdered IN LARGE NUMBERS those whose beliefs weren't "orthodox". much like pagans persecuted those whose religions were "not officially recognized" by the state, Christians eliminated other Christians whose views were deemed as "heretic". thus, as certain times, if you were Arian: Jesus subordinated to God, you were tortured and killed. later, if you believed that Jesus was only either human OR divine you were killed. there was a tremendous battle to figure out what the "correct" beliefs should be and then to eliminate opposing views. thus, if Christians would kill someone who believed that Jesus was a "created God" or only "part God", what would they have done to someone who didn't believe that he was God at all?!

Bart Ehrman gives lots of evidence for changes and contradictions in "the Bible". new histories relate the evidence for the "changes' in Christian beliefs. here are 2 excellent books:

A.D. 381: Heretics, Pagans, and the Dawn of the Monotheistic State

    http://www.amazon.com/D-381-Heretics...ref=pd_sim_b_2

Jesus Wars: How Four Patriarchs, Three Queens, and Two Emperors Decided What Christians Would Believe for the Next 1,500 years

    http://www.amazon.com/Jesus-Wars-Pat.../dp/0061768944

early Christianity was basically a struggle between the centers at Alexandria and Antioch, with Constantinople caught in the middle. Rome played a lessor but growing role in these debates. Rome was hampered by the fact that Latin was its the lingua franca, and the debates were waged in Greek, which was the dominant language in the eastern empire.

it's fascinating stuff and useful in dawah.

    Any suggestions?

Had the non-believer known of all the Mercy which is in the Hands of Allah, he would not lose hope of entering Paradise, and had the believer known of all the punishment which is present with Allah, he would not consider himself safe from the Hell-Fire

Are you for real? Allah al-must'aan.

If by, you mean the Arabic letters which are 'muqatahat' then there is no meaning for them. Allah swt knows there meanings, He alone knows. Whatever you or this 'someone' provides is going to be useless.
