    Purpose Of Life

    Report bad ads?

    Salam,

I was wondering about the true purpose of life is according to Islam, with most people ive come accross have given me the answer that it is to worship Allah , But we also know its written many a places that Allah doesnt need our worship so what logically is the purpose of life, what does are creator want us to do, if this world as its said is an examination then why does it even matter for us to be involved in worldly things to get a job, enjoy life and waste our time as in the end this world is an examination

    Re: Purpose Of Life

Well what answer are you looking for? We are indeed created to worship Allah, are we in a position to question what Allah has asked us to do? We need to be balanced in our deeds in Dunya and Akhirah, Allah S.W.T. has set the guidelines and rules that we need to follow as human beings, there is hell and heaven, everything we do will be accounted on the day of judgement.

    Re: Purpose Of Life

God doesn't need us to eat food, enjoy paradise either, but that doesn't mean at OUR LEVEL, we're going to stop trying.

God doesn't need angels either, doesn't mean that they're are going to stop worshipping, praising God.

The true purpose in life is to worship Allah, and be pleased that he has created us so that we know that God exists, and that he has provided us with so much, that we are happy that we can experience and live life and be forever happy in the next world.

    Re: Purpose Of Life

Believing in the one God is a fact, not a thing that we thought of, or think it maybe true.

Also a reminder, all the Prophets came and told people to repent when they gave the message, they told people the first time to worship the one God- why would all the Prophets tell people to do something, if they didn't have it in them to acknowledge the truth???

Even Allah has stated that people reject the "truth", he doesn't send people to Hell because they just didn't know that God existed.

It is only in recent times, that atheists using media are telling people that they just don't know-well I don't accept that and that they are liars for the life of this world. They like to say that they are using reason and intelligence, well they are not more intelligent then any of the Prophets. We would never listen to anyone above the Prophets Ibrahim, Noah, Lut, Solomon, David, Moses, Muhammad peace be upon them etc.

We fast for a whole month in ramadan
We pray 5 times a day
We use up a savings to give to charity or to visit Mecca, Medina

We certainly don't do the above because we "think" that God exists, but because we accept that he does and has created everything in this world, providing us with so many fruits in abundance.

    Re: Purpose Of Life

    Salaam

Our primary purpose is to find the truth. The first words sent to our prophet is to read which is said 3 times and the prophet answered back that he cannot read.

Surely that is a clear message to us all. We read, research and hopefully will come to the conclusion that the world did not just come into existence randomly.

When we discover the truth then we surely will feel the appropriateness of our actions.

Without reading and discovering for ourselves it is difficult to fully appreciate this question, but instead add to the uncertainty.

Just a brief point of view

    Peace

A question I have never really thought about as it only happens when we die. Not a lot of stories here as nobody has really come back from the dead to tell. It is a bit like the questions of alam ghaib where we cannot see or touch or feel, and it is going down this trajectory of questions when we cannot find the answers it will likely lead us to being dissatisfied with our faith.

Hence, the Deen is about faith. Absolute faith with our reason and not hard scientific facts (although that could be used to reinforce our beliefs).

    Re: Purpose Of Life

The signs of the afterlife include when you have dried earth and Allah revives it, and helps grow plantations.

Another is when you wake up after sleep
Another is when people are created, and thus Allah resurrects on the Day of Judgement

The facts of the events of the Quran;-

    - Allah restoring the earth after the flood at the time of Prophet Noah peace be upon him
    - Allah allowing Prophet Jesus peace be upon him to create a bird out of clay, and by Allah's permission came alive,
-With Allah's permission restoring birds after they were killed at the time of Prophet Ibrahim peace be upon him
    - The plagues of Egypt, of Allah's power, along with Allah's power of creating this world and letting the world continue.
    - The table spreadth-the food that came down from heaven at the time of Prophet Jesus peace be upon him

The above are facts, just because they are passed down to us, doesn't mean they were wrong, just as information of historical events not included in videos, radios etc. Even Allah relates these events to us, using past events to show of his signs.

    Re: Purpose Of Life

What's is the purpose of our life ?
Allah who created us is the only One who knows why we are created.
And the right place to find out the answer is the message Allah sent to us : The Quran !

So let's follow the sequence in the Quran :

    1) Why Allah created us ?
    ==> to whrship Him : Surat Ad-Dhariyat, verse 56 :51 56 1 - Purpose Of Life

Trans : And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.

    2) And why Allah wanted us to worship Him ? does He need that ?
==> No Allah doesn’t need our worship. But He wanted us to worship Him because that makes us the Muttaqin (Righteous) : Surat Al-Baqara verse 21 :
    2 21 1 - Purpose Of Life
Trans: O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous

    3) Now why Allah wanted us to be righteous ?
==> because being righteous is the only way to enter Jannah and get forgiveness (“Ma’ghfira”) : Surat Ali-Imraan, verse 133 :

    3 133 1 - Purpose Of Life
Trans: And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a garden as wide as the heavens and earth, prepared for the righteous

Conclusion : Worship Allah ==> Become righteous ==> Enter Jannah = The Purpose of life.

So finally, Allah wants us to enter Jannah and get His forgiveness, that’s why He created us, Because Allah is Al-Karim(The Most Generous, The All Laudable), Al-Rahim(The Merciful) and Al-Ghafour(The Forgiving). That’s the purpose of our life. But in the middle of the way, Allah wants us to do our best in worshipping Him and following His guidance and His commandments, in order to be righteous people and to be worth it and to really deserve Jannah.

    Re: Purpose Of Life

Islam requires a balance of worldly life and spiritual life. Getting a job and working is important. It is said that getting work is the next most obligatory thing upon a Muslim besides the usual activities of the day, such as praying, fasting, etc.

Allah does not need our worship because He is Self-Sufficient. This is one of His attributes. We need to worship Allah for ourselves. Allah taught us to do this because He created the universe for this very purpose. He did not create the universe in play. Thus, Allah tells us to worship Him. We are made to face trials and live life so that we may know Him.

Living this life is not a waste. Allah made things the way they are for a reason. Each thing has its function, and this is all a system made by Divine wisdom. Better we do not belittle His creation. Everything is as it should be.
