And when your Lord made it known: If you are grateful, I would certainly give to you more, and if you are ungrateful, My chastisement is truly severe.

“Know that the life of this world is only play and amusement, a show and boasting among yourselves, a quest for greater riches and more children. Its similitude is that of vegetation that flourish after rain: the growth of which delights the tillers, then it withers and you see it turn yellow, soon it becomes dry and crumbles away. In the hereafter there will be either severe punishment or forgiveness from Allah and His good pleasure. The life of this world is nothing but an illusion.” Al-Quran [al-Hadiid - 57:20]
Man wastes his lifetime running after something which has no effect on anything except that he ruins his hereafter. A believer is he who believes that nothing can happen without the Will of Allahu ta'ala. Therefore, his objective becomes to gain Allah’s pleasure and not to run after this Dunya (World). No material possession can benefit or harm anyone if it is not desired by Allah.

I believe that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Prophet Muhammad (S) is his slave and messenger.

Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “A time of patience will come to people in which adhering to one’s religion is like grasping a hot coal.”

“The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, although there is good in each. Desire that which will bring you benefit, and seek help from Allah and do not give way to incapacity. If something happens to you, do not say, ‘If only I had done such-and-such.’ Rather say, ‘The decree of Allah. He does what He will.’ Otherwise you will open yourself up to the action of Shaitan” (Muslim).

وَاسْتَعِينُوا بِالصَّبْرِ وَالصَّلَاةِ ۚ وَإِنَّهَا لَكَبِيرَةٌ إِلَّا عَلَى الْخَاشِعِينَ
And seek help through patience and prayer, and indeed, it is difficult except for the humbly submissive. [Quran, 2:45]

On the authority of son of Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), among the sayings he related from his Lord (glorified and exalted be He) is that He said:

Allah has written down the good deeds and the bad ones. Then He explained it [by saying that] he who has intended a good deed and has not done it, Allah writes it down with Himself as a full good deed, but if he has intended it and has done it, Allah writes it down with Himself as from ten good deeds to seven hundred times, or many times over. But if he has intended a bad deed and has not done it, Allah writes it down with Himself as a full good deed, but if he has intended it and has done it, Allah writes it down as one bad deed.

‘Abdullāh Ibn Muhammad Ibn Manaazil said:
The Believer seeks excuses for his brothers, and the hypocrite seeks the mistakes for his brothers.
[Ash-Shu’ab, 7/11197]

Ibn Taimiyah said:

Some people have the disease of criticizing all the time. They forget the good about others and only mention their faults. They are like flies that avoid the good and pure places and land on the bad and wounds. This is because of the evil within the self and the spoiled nature.

“Let every person consider what they have sent ahead for tomorrow.” Qur’an 59:18

O Allah, give us a good end. Grant us the tawfeeq to strive to make our scale of good deeds heavier and let us depart from this world when You are pleased with us.

"Had Allah lifted the veil for his slave
and shown him how He handles his
affairs for him, and how Allah is more
keen for the benefit of the slave than
his own self, his heart would have
melted out of the love for Allah and
would have been torn to pieces out of
thankfulness to Allah. Therefore if the
pains of this world tire you, do not
grieve. For it may be that Allah wishes
to hear your voice by way of Dua'a. So
pour out your desires in prostration
and forget about it and know; that
verily Allah does not forget it."

IBN AL- QAYYIM (r.a.)

"WHOEVER IS CREATED FOR JANNAH
WILL FOREVER BE AFFLICTED WITH
CALAMITIES, THE BEIEVER REMAINS
FIRM AND NEVER COMPLAINS AND
THE CONCEALMENT OF PAIN AND
AFFLICTION IS ONE OF THE
ATTRIBUTES OF GREAT SO KNOW
FULL WELL THAT YOU WEREN'T
DENIED EXCEPT TO BE GIVEN, AND
YOU WERE NOT AFFICTED EXCEPT TO BE CURED, NOR WERE YOU TESTED EXCEPT TO BE PURIFIED."

Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyya said:
There are six stages to knowledge:

1. Asking questions in a good manner.
2. Remaining quiet and listening attentively.
3. Understanding well.
4. Memorizing.
5. Teaching.
6. Acting upon the knowledge and keeping to its limits.

“The reality of manners is that it results from beautiful character.Thus, manners is the manifestations of the integrity and strength in one’s inward personality into action.” Ibn Rajab
