im a creative director/artist and sometimes i like to get inspirations from different sources such as cartoons , would this be considered bad since it comes from something haram/disliked even though i dont include any haram things?
There's nothing wrong in getting inspiration or ideas from cartoons, so long as you're not getting the wrong ideas and the cartoons aren't of poor taste. By poor taste, I mean so long as you're not watching porn to get inspired.
We can even by inspired by looking at shaytan. Seeing how high he elevated himself through his devotion to Allah should inspire us to do the same as well,and at the same time seeing how he fell and became the cursed should inspire us to avoid falling into that trap of pride and arrogance and inspire us to avoid following him or his path of humiliation.
