Aisha reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever seeks to please Allah with something displeasing to people, then Allah will be pleased with him. Whoever seeks to please people with something displeasing to Allah, then Allah and the people will both be displeased with him.”
Is it shirk if you please someone at the expense of displeasing Allah?
