Re: If my aunt was pious, good and died of cancer, is she a martyr?
[It is proven in a number of hadeeths that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said that the one who dies by drowning, or because of the plague or a stomach disease (diarrhoea) is a martyr. So the one who dies of the plague is a martyr, the one who dies of a stomach disease is a martyr, the one who drowns is a martyr, the one who is crushed by a falling wall is a martyr, the one who is killed for the sake of Allah is a martyr, the one who dies for the sake of Allah is a martyr, and there are a number of others who are martyrs.
1) If you do not go after what you want, you will never have it
2) If you don't ask, the answer will always be no.
3) If you do not step forward, you'll always be in the same place

“People who die of cancer are martyrs as those who die of plague and tuberculosis,”
said Sheikh Abdullah Al Mutlaq, an adviser at the Saudi royal court and member of the supreme scholars authority.

maybe people who believe in the just truth conveyed by the messengers of the Creator and Master of the worlds - and die in that state of faith.
Dunno if his words were taken out of context and mispresented or if he forgot about the fact that some people are hopeless of paradise and die in that state.

Firstly - sorry for your loss. InshAllah your relative gains Jannah.
The Shaheed that passes away in the path of Allah SWT is different from the Shaheed that passes away in other circumstances. (Illnesses)
As for those who pass away in the path of Allah SWT, No Janazaa is done and any supplications for them raises their ranks in Jannah.
As for the other type of Shaheed, although they are regarded as Shaheed, we should supplicate that Allah forgives their shortcomings and InshAllah raise their ranks in Jannah.

oh, thank you, brother. may Allah grant you the same, InshaAllah. Although I appreciate your kindness, it should be worth mentioning this happened a long time ago.
