"Beautified for people is the love of that which they desire - of women and sons, heaped-up sums of gold and silver, fine branded horses, and cattle and tilled land. That is the enjoyment of worldly life, but Allah has with Him the best return". (Qur'an 3 :14)

"The son of Adam (i.e. man) grows old and so also two desires grow old with him; love for wealth and a wish for a long life.” [Bukhari]

First of all, Islam permits human to live in this world comfortably and enjoy the benefits of a halal income. And it's natural that man loves their wealth and belongings. But not to the point that men start to rely more on their wealth than to trust in God.

The point to understand is that our earnings should not make us self-centered, arrogant, or less of a Muslim. These is the first step which sets a mentality of greed and obsession of wealth. These things leads to deprive the rights of others.

However, money should always be in the rotation. So it helps to fulfill the needs of the society. Just as if water is an important element for our lives but if that water is stagnant in one place for a long time then it would be harmful than to benefit humanity. Similarly the aim of wealth is to enjoy and to help others.

Firstly, we need to understand that wealth, life and whatever we possess wheather abstract qualities (intellectual) or material things (wealth) are the blessings and mercy of God. It's meant to be enjoyed within the parameters of the Qur'an and Sunnah. And it's granted to us temporarily, so we need to remind ourselves that we are not the owner of it.

Hadith is the prophecy of Prophet Muhammad pbuh that man by default will desire for more wealth and long life. Though wealth is one of life’s necessities. But it is not life’s goal. If wealth is necessary to fulfill life’s material requirements, then it must be acquired as the pillar of human existence. But if wealth is projected as life’s goal and its ever-increasing acquisition is considered the most important task, then it can become a source of great misery which will destroy its seekers not only in this world but also in the Hereafter.

And this life has a great charm and significant, even a dying person wants to live for some more years. Men spend their wealth if his life at stake. No one is ready to leave this world. But one must think seriously that he spends his life in righteous deeds. Not committing sin to the extent that he hates to die. One of the most desired wish is to meet our Lord. And live life as commanded by the God. But people think that their wealth increase their life which is totally wrong as life and death are in the hands of God. Money can assist to overcome some problems but not the solution to death.

"He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal". (Surah Humazah , Ayah : 3)

The question of how much wealth and property one owns, or how many of the luxuries and pleasures of the world one enjoys ? The answer is that Islam has a unique exception on the concept of wealth, its ownership and distribution. Wealth in Islam is not an end in itself, but a means to higher values. It should be earned, invested and spend in the correct avenues, and in return he would achieve the great reward which also span this life as well as the hereafter. And upholding ties of kinship that increases one’s lifespan and brings blessing in one’s provision.

The Messenger of Allah pbuh said, “Whoever would like his Rizq (provision) to be increased and his life to be extended, should uphold the ties of kinship.” [Sahih Al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim]41994199_162563351345378_3222756329773879735_n.jpg
